6 Weeks until EOGs
Duke Energy Science Night at EOY Wednesday!
Only six weeks remaining until End-of-Grade (EOG) assessments and we have another busy week in the Tiger Den. Come join us for our Duke Energy Science Night this Wednesday (4/24) evening from 4-6pm We will have 8 engaging stations with hands-on science activities that will be fun for the whole family. This is a great way to explore many different science concepts with your children. We'd also love some parent or older sibling volunteers to help run our science activity stations. If interested in volunteering, please contact Principal Batten or Jodi Pulley.
We are also planning this year's Tiger Den Field Day on Friday, May 10th. Last week we sent home t-shirt order forms. This year, each grade level will have a unique t-shirt color. Please return the t-shirt form along with $12/shirt by Wednesday (4/24).
Last week was extremely busy in the Tiger Den for all grades with the distribution of report cards on Wednesday and our Q3 PBIS celebration for those students who demonstrated positive behaviors throughout the quarter. We also had Mock EOGs for grades 3-5 and now our instructional staff are analyzing the results to help teachers target upcoming lessons on addressing specific curriculum areas that need more attention. This week, grades 3-5 will review mock EOG test items and students will be creating flashcards and other helpful review materials based on specific curriculum items that they missed. Homemade flashcards, made on 3x5 or 5x7 index cards, are a great tool that families can help make and review with their children for any grade level using curriculum vocabulary and concepts. Families can also support learning by encouraging your child to read for at least 20 minutes each night.
I am thankful to the students, families, and staff who work collaboratively to help our students grow and succeed. It truly takes a village and Tigers will CLIMB together. Let's have an amazing week focusing on academics and PAWsitive behaviors.
