Soaring Into a Fantastic New School Year!

What a wonderful start to the school year! Our hallways are filled with bright smiles, eager minds, and the vibrant energy of our Soaring Eagles. A heartfelt thank you goes out to all of our incredible parents and guardians for your partnership, support, and dedication in helping us hit the ground running. Together, we are laying the foundation for a truly exceptional year ahead.

Every Day Counts: The Importance of Attendance Building strong habits early is key to student success, and it all starts with arriving on time each day. Consistent attendance ensures your child doesn’t miss out on vital instruction, hands-on activities, and valuable time connecting with classmates. If your child needs to miss school due to illness or an appointment, please notify the school office as soon as possible.

Keeping Our Eagles Safe: Visitor Check-In Procedures The safety of our students and staff is always our top priority. We love having our families involved, but we ask that all visitors—including parents—stop by the main office to check in and receive a visitor's badge immediately upon entering the building. Thank you for helping us maintain a safe and secure learning environment for everyone!

Stay Connected via ClassDojo Communication between home and school makes our community strong! If you haven't already, please make sure you are connected to your child’s ClassDojo account. It’s the quickest way to receive classroom updates, track positive behavior, view school-wide announcements, and message teachers directly.

Thank you once again for your unwavering support. Let's keep working together to help our Eagles spread their wings and fly high this year!

Ms. Aranda & Mrs. Griffin

Nutrition News

September: Immune Support & Focus

Focus: Strengthening immune systems as kids head back to the classroom.

  • The Vitamin C Powerhouse: It's not just oranges! Bell peppers, strawberries, and broccoli actually contain more Vitamin C per serving than oranges, helping to boost white blood cells to fight off classroom germs.

  • Good Gut, Good Mood: About 90% of the body's serotonin (the "happy" chemical) is produced in the gut. Introduce gut-healthy probiotics like low-sugar yogurt, kefir, or mild pickles to support emotional balance.

  • Iron for Attention Span: Iron is critical for carrying oxygen to the brain. Mild iron deficiencies can cause fatigue and difficulty paying attention. Boost iron by pairing spinach or beans with a squeeze of citrus (Vitamin C dramatically increases iron absorption).

  • The Healthy Fat Foundation: The human brain is made of nearly 60% fat. Omega-3 fatty acids, found in salmon, walnuts, chia seeds, and flax, act as building blocks for brain cells and improve learning capacity.

  • Snack Smart, Keep it Whole: When buying packaged snacks, try to stick to the "5-ingredient rule." If a snack has more than 5 ingredients or names you can't pronounce, swap it for a whole food like apple slices or pumpkin seeds.

  • 🥤 Quick Recipe: The "Classroom Shield" Smoothie

    • Ingredients: 1 cup spinach, 1/2 cup frozen strawberries, 1/2 banana, 1/2 cup Greek yogurt, and a splash of milk.

    • How-to: Blend all ingredients until smooth. The sweet strawberries completely mask the spinach, making it a green vitamin bomb kids will actually drink.

🚗 Eagle Express: Safe & Speedy Student Pickup! ✨

Help us keep the Big Top running smoothly! To make sure pick-up time is safe, quick, and stress-free for all our Eagles, please keep these important driving rules in mind:

  • Pull All the Way Up! 🚘 Please pull your car all the way to the curb to grab your child. This keeps the lane flowing smoothly for the cars behind you!

  • Safety First for Street Crossers! 🚶‍♂️ If you park across the street or down a side street, you must walk across to meet your child. For their safety, children are not allowed to cross the street alone.

  • Need Extra Parking? 🅿️ If the street behind the school is full, no worries! The church parking lot is open and available for pickup parking.

  • Be a Good Neighbor! 🏡 Please be courteous to our school neighbors—make sure not to block driveways or mailboxes, even for a quick minute.

  • Drive with Care! 🛑 Always obey traffic laws: drive extra slowly, watch for signs, follow crossing guards, and never stop in the middle of the street to load students.

Thank you for helping us keep our Eagles safe every single day!
