Moving Up & Looking Forward
On Tuesday, fifth graders were celebrated at the FE Bellows annual 5th Grade Moving Up ceremony. The weather was gorgeous and the students, all smiles! It began with the procession of our 99 fifth graders onto the field with an empowering speech from Mr. Burke, Superintendent of Schools, inspirational remarks about flexibility and growth from Mr. Scarantino, principal of FEB and then a few motivational and encouraging words from RNHS Senior Class Vice President and Old Tymer's Award winner Davey Ryan. We all said goodbye and recognized Ms. Dioguardi, our school psychologist, who is retiring after thirty-four years of outstanding service to Rye Neck. Students received their certificates and then closed out the event with a memorable performance of "99, One at a Time", a song "shouting out" all of our fifth graders inspired by "Fifty-Nifty United States".
We wish the fifth grade class of 2026 much success and happiness in their secondary careers at the Middle School & High School.

Critter Caravan Visits Third Graders
Third graders concluded their final Science unit of the year with a visit from Critter Caravan, an exotic mammal and reptile show. This hands-on approach reinforces the use of all our senses as learning tools. Students and staff learned all about animal adaptations and the world's diverse ecosystems and cultures through this traveling zoo experience.
None of these enriching events happen without the continued support and generosity of the Rye Neck PTSA! Thank you for helping us enhance learning at Bellows year after year!
Bellows Palooza was a Blast!
On Wednesday afternoon, the fifth grade musical groups performed their original songs at our annual "Bellows Palooza" concert. Third and fourth graders bobbed their heads, clapped and sang along to all the catchy tunes created by the Class of 2026.
Thank you to Mr. Galgano for creating such lasting musical memories for our Fifth graders!
Harvesting the Life Garden
On Thursday morning, all of our students attended a garden tasting event in the Life Garden to celebrate their spring planting season. Students had some green juice, tasted basil and other herbs and vegetables that we grew right in our own backyard!
Thank you to Jessica Fitzpatrick for her continued assistance and hard work keeping the Life Garden a place for Bellows students to learn about sustainability and agriculture and to all of our parent volunteers who give freely of their time to pitch in!
Summer Reading Playlist
All students who will be attending Bellows in the fall are asked to read at least three (3) books over the summer. Thanks to our Library Media Team of Ms. Trotta & Ms. Tucciarone, we have a "Summer Reading Playlist" of recommended titles for students entering each of the grades in the fall.
This list is recommended and students/families can select other titles to read this summer that are NOT on the list, but we are positive that students will enjoy many, if not all, of them!
