Principal's Notes
So many wonderful things took place at Cole School this week including Assistant Principal Appreciation Day on Monday where Mrs. Benner was showered with love and appreciation for her work. Third graders enjoyed a fantastic field trip to the Boston Tea Party Museum on Monday while fourth graders enjoyed a science enrichment program from High Tech High Touch here at school. Maverick and Wylie, two second grade students, helped the entire school celebrate National Schwa Day on Tuesday - such fun! Two fifth grade classes traveled to the South Shore Arts Center to learn from their watercolor artist in residence. On Thursday, the NMS Spotlighters came to Cole School to perform the Lion King preview for the students. Third and fourth grade students also took the ELA MCAS test this week. Testing will continue next week as well. Conferences took place this week as well. Thank you to the families for participating in those conferences to hear all about how their children are doing in school. We appreciate your partnership! Lastly, the PTO held the Book Fair with books from Buttonwood Books. The book choices were excellent! Thank you to all who purchased books and to those that volunteered to run it! It looked like successful event!
We'll be celebrating School Secretary's Day on Wednesday, April 15th. It typically falls over April vacation week so we're celebrating a week early. Let's make Mrs. Tracey's and Mrs. Higgins' last appreciation day a special one with lots of notes, emails, and phone calls expressing thanks and gratitude for their work here at Cole School.
The Lost and Found is overflowing! Please take a moment to look over the lost and found items that will be on display in the hallway outside the health room when you come in for conferences. Any unclaimed items will be donated on Monday, April 13th.
Magnificent Meerkats
We had two weeks worth of Magnificent Meerkats to celebrate today! These Meerkats were nominated for the ability to persevere through challenging tasks, being kind to others when they needed a good friend, taking on leadership roles, and for having respectful and responsible attitudes at school. Mrs. Higgins and I were tickled pink to be nominated this week as well! Many thanks to these Magnificent Meerkats for making Cole School shine!

PE Happenings
All grades had numerous chances to practice their throwing, catching, punting, kicking and teamwork skills in a cooperative game of Guard the Pin.
