Fill A Heart 4 Kids - Flex v. Flex Competition - November 16-20
Attention Fremont Family!
Last year, Fremont Middle School raised enough money to send two veterans to Washington D.C. for the Honor Flight. Thank you for helping make that trip possible.
To continue our theme of Gratitude this month, we are collecting donations for Fill a Heart 4 Kids. The organization needs many items to support families experiencing homelessness, children at-risk and children in foster care. We are creating birthday boxes to help children celebrate their special day. Our school will collect new stuffed animals, new blankets, cereal, cake mix, cake frosting, cake decorations, cookie mix, brownie mix, muffin mix, socks (pairs or packs), and granola bars. Each item is worth points. These items can help bring comfort and provide useful supplies to children and families.
Donations will be collected in FLEX classes from Monday November 16, through Friday, November 20 at 10:00a.m. The FLEX class with the most points in each grade level will receive a reward. Thank you for showing gratitude and supporting our community!
Parent University Virtual Presentation—RULER Framework—Nov. 11
Mark your calendars for November 11 as we invite all parents and guardians to join us for our upcoming virtual Parent University: Connecting RULER Social-Emotional Learning from School to Home, presented by Fremont staff.
Across all grade levels, our classrooms have been actively embedding the RULER framework (developed by the Yale Center for Emotional Intelligence) into daily learning. During this virtual interactive session, you’ll gain a deeper understanding of our schoolwide RULER rollout and take home practical strategies to use the Mood Meter and Charter concepts within your family routine.
Sustaining Our Momentum
As the days grow shorter and the holiday season approaches, maintaining steady daily attendance protects crucial learning momentum and nurtures everyday friendships.
Full-Day Value: Arriving on time and staying until dismissal ensures students don't miss essential morning connection time or end-of-day reflection.
Travel & Health: Please plan holiday travel during scheduled school breaks. For medical absences, remember the 24-hour symptom-free rule (without fever-reducing or symptom-masking medication).
Thank you for helping keep our learning community strong and connected!
Winter Weather Procedures
Colder weather is right around the corner. Please familiarize yourself with the District’s winter weather procedures by clicking here.
In the event of a school closure, the District will hold an eLearning day instead of the traditionally scheduled emergency days at the end of the academic year. A two-hour late start is an additional District option in the event of inclement weather or other unforeseen events.
If schools are open, parents may, as always, excuse their child if they feel conditions are unsafe. Any bus delays of 10 minutes or more will be communicated to our families via our notification system.
Strategic Planning Session—Nov. 18
Help the FSD79 leadership team shape the District’s next strategic plan. Please join us for a parent/guardian feedback session on November 18 following the PTO meeting:
Wednesday, November 18 • 7:00-8:00 p.m.
Fremont Middle School Media Center
Input on priorities and big ideas for the future of our Fremont schools will be collected. This is just the first opportunity for families to share their feedback. Additional opportunities will be forthcoming in December and January.
Free childcare will be provided for children ages 3+. While it is not required to RSVP to attend, please do so here if you intend to take advantage of childcare.
Book Fair Coming to the Middle School
The Scholastic Book Fair will be coming to the Middle School the week of November 17 - 20. We are looking for parent/guardian volunteers to help run the cash register during the day. Please consider signing up to volunteer. - SignUpGenius
