A Message from Plummer Middle School

May at the Kingdom: The Home Stretch!

Can you believe we’ve reached the final month of the school year? May has officially arrived, bringing with it a whirlwind of activity, warmer weather, and that unmistakable end-of-year hum. Here at the Mighty Puma Kingdom, we are shifting gears into "finish strong" mode while making sure we take the time to celebrate everything our students have accomplished since August.

The Final Push

As we navigate these last few weeks, we want to encourage our students to stay focused. Between final projects, end-of-year assessments, and the excitement of upcoming summer break, it’s easy for middle schoolers to lose their momentum.

Parents, we appreciate your help in:

  • Checking Home Access Center in the portal.

  • Helping students locate lost library books if you receive an email.

  • Ensuring students stay focused.

  • Encouraging your Pumas to keep their "Puma Pride" high by following school expectations right up until the final bell.

A Roaring Success: Celebrating Our Mighty Puma Educators!

Last week, the hallways of the Mighty Puma Kingdom were filled with even more energy and laughter than usual as we celebrated Teacher Appreciation Week. It was a truly spectacular stretch of days, and we want to extend a massive "Puma Paws Up" to the team that made it all happen.

A Heartfelt Thank you

A huge shout-out goes to Mr. McAfee, our dedicated administrative team, and all of his "minions" (we know who you are!) for their tireless work behind the scenes. From the initial brainstorming to the final cleanup, your efforts ensured our staff felt seen, valued, and celebrated.

Highlights of the Week

The creativity this year was off the charts! Our teachers were treated to a variety of festivities that kept the spirit high all week long:

  • Brain-Busting Trivia: The daily trivia games sparked some friendly (and fierce!) competition among the staff.

  • Mardi Gras Magic: The vibrant theme brought a touch of the Big Easy to Plummer, complete with festive colors and a joyful atmosphere.

  • Spirit & Style: From the fun Dress Up Days to the overall decor, the school felt truly transformed.

  • A Feast Fit for Kings and Queens: The week culminated in a fabulous luncheon with food that was nothing short of incredible.

More Than Words Can Say

While we know our educators deserve far more than we can ever put into words or deeds, we are so proud that Plummer provided such a successful, festive environment for them. Our teachers give their hearts to our students every single day, and seeing the community rally to give a little bit of that love back was truly special.

Thank you again to everyone who contributed, donated, and volunteered to make this week a landmark success in the Kingdom. Go Pumas!

Puma Sports Update: Gear Up for a Busy May!

It’s an exciting time for our student-athletes! As we wrap up the current season and look ahead to the next, please mark your calendars for these three essential events happening this May.

🏅Mandatory Athletic Parent Meeting (All Sports)

Thursday, May 14 Calling all future Puma stars! We will be hosting a mandatory meeting for parents of students interested in playing sports for the next school year. We’ll discuss the upcoming season schedule, safety protocols, and expectations for our student-athletes.

🩺 Athletic Physicals

Tuesday, May 19 | 4:45 PM – 6:15 PM Don't wait until the last minute! To participate in any school sports for the upcoming year, students must have a cleared physical on file. We are making it easy by hosting on-site physicals at Plummer Middle School. This is a quick and convenient way to ensure your child is cleared and ready to play.

🏆 The Blue Print Pumas Sports Award Banquet

Wednesday, May 20 | 5:30 PM It’s time to celebrate our hard work and hustle! Join us for an evening dedicated to our incredible athletes. We will be recognizing individual achievements and team milestones during The Blue Print Pumas Sports Award Banquet Ceremony. Come dressed in your formal attire. Where’s... Your Library Book? 🔍

Have you seen it? Is it hiding behind a pile of laundry? Is it camouflaged under a bed or blending into a backpack?

Just like Waldo in the popular series, some of our library books have gone missing in the crowd! We need your help finding these "lost travelers" and getting them back to their home on the library shelves.

Your Mission:

  • Check Your Inbox: We’ve sent out "search party" emails to parents of students with outstanding items.

  • Search the House: If you see an email, help your student track down the missing title.

  • Return the Goods: Have your child drop the book off at the library media center—no questions asked!

Thank you for helping us keep our collection complete for all our readers. Happy hunting!
