Student/ Faculty Librarians for October! Student/ Faculty Librarians for October!

I am thrilled to celebrate our very first Student Librarian of the Month! Each month, a new student librarian is selected to curate a special section of our library. Selected students get to:

  1. Curate a Shelf: Choose 5 to 20 of their favorite library books to feature on a dedicated display shelf for the entire month.

  2. Inspire the School: Other students can check out any of the recommended books right off their display shelf!

Want Your Child to Participate?

Students in 2nd–5th grade can pick up an application form directly from the library. Simply complete the student questions, have a parent sign the permission slip, and return it to the library. A new Student Librarian is selected each month! Accepting applications for November!

Over the past two weeks, our students have been fascinated by a front-row seat to nature's magic as our caterpillar transformed into a Monarch butterfly!

Our classes celebrated this hands-on learning experience with dynamic, grade-level activities:

  • Pre-K–1st Grade read The Very Hungry Caterpillar and created beautiful artwork detailing the complete life cycle of a butterfly.

  • 2nd–3rd Grade enjoyed reading The Very Impatient Caterpillar and drew their own portraits of the main character.

  • 4th–5th Grade put their problem-solving and critical-thinking skills to the test in a lively Butterfly Escape Room challenge.

To conclude our unit, we released our Monarch into the wild! Before sending it off, we placed a special tracking tag on its wing, and we are excited to follow its incredible migration journey all the way south to Mexico.
