Well the garage sale is behind us and it was a tremendous success. So far the total raised was $10,136.07! WELL DONE! You came out and volunteered, packed things up, checked people out, spread the news, donated items and even helped with set up and clean up! Thank you so much for every single person that made this an amazing event and raised so much money!
Maybe you wonder where the money goes? Well this event raises money that stays within the church and is managed by our United Methodist Women. When things have needed replacing or repairing this past year, the church budget didn't take a hit because the funds covered it. From new refrigerators to window coverings to repairing plumbing problems and so much more. The next time you see one of the ladies of our church, say Thank You! They are truly a blessing to so many!
Two weeks from now is our next time to deliver DASH meals. If you want to volunteer, let me know! The date is Saturday November 7th and the time is 9:15am. You will probably be done by 10:30am! The more, the merrier!
I hope to see EVERY one of you tomorrow in worship! Confirmation Sunday is a special time in the church!

Our next Saturday for meal delivery for DASH, is Saturday November 7th! I hope you will consider joining this amazing and powerful ministry! Let Pastor Melissa know if you want to help and she will give you the details!
Pastor Melissa would like to meet with all parents of youth in grades 6th-12th! And she would also like those youth to attend as well. There has been a desire for some planning and events for our youth! Join me in the fellowship hall after worship on Sunday November 1st. We will provide pizza but feel free to brown bag it if you don't like pizza! Hope to see you all there!
We need YOU in our choir! Our time to practice is 5:30-6:30pm on Wednesdays. We SURE COULD USE some more guys! Won't you consider joining the fun? We have a great group and no one has to sing a solo or anything! (Unless you want to!) Please join us and help us worship God on Sundays as a choir!
Our anthems are SINGABLE so come join the fun! We promise it will be painless and might even be FUN!
Little ones are always welcome in our worship services. There is a table in the back of the sanctuary along with some activities on the small shelf. We have a team of people who are willing to staff the nursery during worship when the need arises. Please contact Pastor Melissa if this is a need you would like us to staff weekly. Otherwise, bring them on to worship with you! We love them!
Do you know that we have Sunday School for all ages on Sunday mornings? Sunday School for Kids K-5th grade meets in the children’s hall. Join Mrs Ann and Mrs Nancy to learn more about God in an age appropriate and fun lesson geared just for them! I guarantee it will be more fun than you can shake a yak at!
Students in grades 6th-12th also have a place here at Whaley. Located in the choir room hallway! First classroom on your right! Students have fun discussions and learn lots of relevant lessons for today. Mrs Becky is filling in for Brooke while she is in treatment for a few months. Come join the lively group! All are welcome!
Do you have a college age or young adult in your family? Did you know Whaley has a fun class for these folks? Come join Mrs Susan Beall and others as they talk and grow on their path of discipleship. Down the hallway from the choir room!
Would you like to join an adult Sunday School discussion? There are two groups that currently meet on Sundays at 9:30am.
The Marantha class meets in the conference room of the office and is led by Denny Hook.
Another option is a class offered by Mike Weaver that is meeting in the library! All are welcome to join this lively discussion! No preparation needed.

Shengjie is currently pursuing a Doctoral of Musical Arts in Piano Performance at the University of North Texas. Shengjie has amassed a rich academic and professional journey that resonates with musical achievements and teaching experiences across prestigious institutions. Shengjie has made contributions to music through various roles. During 2021-2023, He served as an Associate Instructor at Indiana University, where he shared his expertise with college students to foster future musicians' development and contribute to the vibrant music community. His role as a Teaching Assistant at the University of North Texas allowed him to expand his musicianship in solo and chamber music and collaborative arts, where he has been appointed as the pianist of the UNT Marie A. Moore Trio since 2023.
