A Word From the Podium
Band Families,
We still do not have an answer as to when we will be able to get back into buildings to get instruments and other belongings. We will continue on and do the best we can with what we have for now. There are several activities students who don't have instruments can do.
Please continue to refer to the 4th quarter schedule below - I'll leave it up each week.
Have a good weekend!
Week 1 of "Continuous Learning" is in the books. From my perspective, it was a success. I really enjoyed meeting with nearly all the students in our "virtual" zoom class meetings on Monday / Tuesday and gave everyone the layout for the week, but more importantly we connected again as a group and that was awesome and much needed.
- For the time being, we will continue to Zoom on the first Monday or Tuesday of the week for our regular class time. 6th Grade Woodwinds / Brass - you have 2 zoom invitations but only go to the one for your instrument - Brass @ 10am, Woodwinds @ 1pm. Students should access zoom through their Canvas Band tile. There is no need for a code if they do it this way. The session is private and secure, all they have to do his click on "JOIN".
Don't forget students - this week's Monday/Tuesday zoom meeting will be "bring your pet day!"
- Look for a new component this week to home practice. There will be an opportunity to respond in a journal format based on what you worked on this week, and what you got better at.
- April 6 - 17 is our Composition Project time period. Look through the assignment carefully and let me know if you have questions.
