REGION SPOTLIGHT
Over the past month, our consultants have been actively collaborating with future teachers, educators, administrators, families and community partners at the local, regional and state levels. By sharing their specialized knowledge and resources, they are helping to build a system that ensures students with disabilities have every opportunity to succeed in school and beyond. We believe that meaningful partnerships are essential to creating improved outcomes for all learners.
We look forward to future opportunities to continue our partnership with local agencies across the region.
Systems Monitoring Community of Practice: Building Effective MTSS Frameworks
State Support Team 6 is excited to announce the 2025-2026 Systems Monitoring Community of Practice (SMCoP) - a transformative 12-month professional learning opportunity designed to help district teams develop comprehensive monitoring processes within a Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) framework. This collaborative community will equip participants with skills to evaluate district systems, analyze implementation data, and create targeted improvement strategies that enhance outcomes for all students, particularly those with disabilities.
The SMCoP offers monthly regional cohort meetings (East, Central, and West) from September 2025 through April 2026, plus virtual support sessions. District teams of 2-5 representatives will explore key monitoring areas, including curriculum and instruction, school climate, operations, and leadership across all tiers of support. For complete details about this professional development opportunity, including meeting locations and participation requirements, [click here] to access the application packet. Interested districts should also review the supplemental program overview [click here] for additional information about benefits and expected outcomes.
Applications must be signed by the superintendent and submitted to rblevins@sst6.org by May 16, 2025. If you have any questions, please contact Ray Blevins at the same email address. Join districts across our region in building capacity to ensure every student receives the support they need!

- For districts with SPP-required actions, continue with the improvement plan or plan for the start of the school year meetings to complete all improvement plan requirements.
