If your child will be absent from school because of illness, doctor's appointments, or for any other reason, please report it to the school office by 9:00 a.m. on the day of the absence by completing the form linked within the above graphic or by calling the attendance line for the appropriate school.

Emergency Notification Test - This Thursday Emergency Notification Test - This Thursday

FSD79 will be conducting an annual test of its mass notification system this Thursday, August 27, at approximately 5:00 p.m. At that time, all parents and guardians should receive an automated phone call, text message, and email notification. Please be aware that due to the high volume of notifications being sent, not all notifications may be delivered right at 5:00 p.m.

If you do not receive an email, text message, or automated phone call notification next Thursday evening, please complete this form. Please confirm that your preferred email address and phone number are current in TeacherEase. If you need to update your contact information, please contact your child’s school.

As a reminder, it is highly encouraged that parents/guardians not opt out of notifications. By choosing to opt out of notifications, users will opt out of all notifications from the District via that method.

The 2026-2027 school year marks the fourth and final year of Fremont School District 79's Strategic Plan. This year's Annual Goals reflect the Strategic Plan Year 4 priorities. While there are actions and outcomes for each of the 12 strategic objectives, prioritized objectives are marked with more robust action plans and outcomes.

The administrative team utilized feedback from the Fremont community, including the Board of Education, as well as best practices, to prioritize areas of focus. Each objective has an action plan, intended product(s)/deliverable(s), and expected outcomes as measured by data/metrics. To view the 2026-2027 Annual Plan, please click below.

August Board of Education Meeting Recap August Board of Education Meeting Recap

In an effort to connect the FSD79 Board of Education and the community, the District offers a summary of monthly, regular Board meetings. To view a recap of the August 24 meeting, please click here.

Student council members from Fremont Intermediate School led meeting attendees in the Pledge of Allegiance. The meeting featured a recognition for Meadows Family Dentistry, which reached out to the District to make a $5,000 donation that will go toward the purchase of a CNC Milling Collection for the forthcoming CTE/STEM lab at Fremont Middle School. We greatly appreciate the generosity of Mr. Balaji Singamsetti and Ms. Sharon Bogetz for supporting our students and our schools.

Proposed Data Center in Grayslake Proposed Data Center in Grayslake

Fremont School District 79 is aware of the T5 data center that is proposed to be built in Grayslake and would fall entirely within our school district boundaries. Following preliminary discussions initiated by municipal leadership in mid-July regarding the project, District administration has engaged in proactive coordination with neighboring high school districts (Mundelein High School District 120 and Grayslake Community High School District 127), financial advisory consultants, legal counsel, legislators, developers, and municipal leaders.

District 79 leadership recognizes that a commercial proposal of this magnitude raises significant questions among our residents regarding environmental footprint, local infrastructure, power and water demands, and overall land use. We hear and share many of the same foundational questions currently emerging across our community.

To learn more about how the District is proactively gaining an understanding of the potential impact of this project, please see this informational update that was shared during the August 24 FSD79 Board of Education meeting.
