Message from Our Principal
Hello Mountain View Family,
I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving Break. We are down to the final weeks of this nine weeks and first semester. We have a few upcoming events, but we are keeping our focus on learning.
On the fun side, I have added some winter activities for our Mountain Lion families below. I know we probably won't get snow and those activities may be out, but there are plenty of others listed. :)
Thank you for your support of our school and all you do to prepare your child/ren for learning.
Until next month,
LaBecca Thompson
Principal, Mountain View ES

Greetings Parents:
I just want to say thank you for the opportunity I have with working and getting to know your children. All of third- fifth grade will continue our study about Bullying. I will be teaching them some strategies to help them deal with bullying called HA HA So. What does this mean? H = Ask for help, A= Assert Yourself, H= Humor, A= Avoid, S= Self-Talk, and O = Own It. I will be teaching if you are a Bystander what you can do when you witness Bullying. CARES is the strategy. C= Creative Problem Solving, A= Adult Help, R=Relate and Join, E= Empathy, and S= Stand Up and Speak Out. We will also continue our third grade book study.
Grades PK-2
Hello Pre-K – 2nd grade parents
Hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving break!
For the month of December, our character trait is “Empathy.” Empathy encourages us to understand the feelings of others, even if we aren’t in the same situation. Included are understanding different perspectives, caring, and being a friend.
We are excited to begin learning about this character trait with the students by reading two great books. “Nerdy Birdy” by Aaron Reynolds and “Sneezy the Snowman” by Maureen White.
We wish you well!
We also have some great activities in store for the students. Please be sure to ask them about it over the next two weeks.
Thank you for all your support.
Have the most amazing weekend!
