The Bulldog Bark
BES Bulldog Bark - Friday, October 23, 2026
Dear Buda Bulldog Families,
We have some exciting news for our Bulldog Families! As a Leader In Me campus, our campus is applying for Lighthouse status! What does that even mean? A Lighthouse school is a GLOBAL recognition! There are 8,800 Leader in Me schools across 7 countries and only 10% of those schools are LIGHTHOUSE schools. It is a big honor to be a Lighthouse campus. Here is a short video that you can watch that might give you a better idea of what this means for Buda Elementary. Read more about how parents can participate on this journey with us below.
Red Ribbon Week
Next week is Red Ribbon Week. Checkout the optional dress up day themes below. A reminder to all, student costumes on Thursday next week, must be school appropriate: no masks or accessories for costumes are permitted, all students must have safe shoes for PE.
Parent Connect
Parent Connect Meeting for Wednesday, October 28th is cancelled. We will resume our Parent Connect Series in January.
Upcoming Holiday Dates
Parents please note we have an upcoming short Fall Break coming up! Students do not have school Friday, October 30th through Tuesday, November 3rd. Classes will resume on Wednesday, November 4th.
Warmly,
Lucia Nerio

Parents, we need you!
Dear Buda Elementary Families,
We are excited to share that our school is currently in the evaluation process to become a Lighthouse School with Franklin Covey through our Leader In Me program. There are currently 8,000 Leader In Me schools worldwide and only 10% are recognized as Lighthouse Schools. This recognition celebrates schools that that are putting leadership principles into action and making a meaningful impact on students, staff, and the school community.
As part of our Lighthouse Review, we are looking for parent volunteers to participate in a parent panel on November 18th and share their experiences and perspectives about Leader In Me at Buda Elementary. Your voice matters! This is a wonderful opportunity to share how you have seen leadership habits grow in your child and how our school’s culture has made a difference for your child and/or family.
If you are interested in participating, please fill out the Google Form below. We would love to have a variety of parent voices represented on our panel!
