Parent Referral Window for GT/ASPIRE Testing 5th-11th Grade

Parents of students in grades 5–11 may submit referrals for GT or ASPIRE testing in Skyward from October 14–November 3.

Step-by-step directions for completing a referral in Skyward are available on the GCISD Advanced Academics website.

COLT PRIDE AWARDS!

Every week our staff members have the opportunity to nominate one CMS Student to receive a Colt Pride Award. These students have demonstrated at least one of our Colt Pride Values: Perseverance, Respect, Integrity, Discipline, Excellence! Way to go COLTS!

Parent Preview: Sixth Grade Puberty Workshop Video Series

GCISD uses several resources and programs for middle school health curriculum in order to be proactive in our delivery of education concerning human sexuality. The Puberty Workshop video series will be presented to your student the week of November 17 - November 21. Parents may preview this program from October 26 - November 7 online. Access information can be found in the Parent Preview Letter. Please follow the steps outlined there to access and preview the video series.

Every parent will be asked to indicate their preference of participation for their child electronically in the forms section of Skyward or by completing and returning a paper consent form by the deadlines established in the Parent Preview Letter. These deadlines allow each campus time to adequately prepare spaces, supervision, and account for student attendance. Thank you in advance for adhering to these deadlines.

Calling all creative Colts! We are collecting applicants for Texas PTA’s 25-26 Reflections Contest. This year’s theme is “I Belong” and categories consist of dance choreography, film production, special arts division, visual arts, photography, music composition, and literature. See the flyer below with application instructions. Deadline for submission is November 3rd.

6th GRADE COTILLION VOLUNTEER INTEREST FORM

Our Cotillion Chairs Vanessa Kastler and Peyton Satterwhite have started working on Cotillion for our 6th graders. If you are interested in helping please fill out the google interest form below. There will be 4 fun filled nights and we need your help to make them amazing! Help will be needed with decor, food, set/up & clean/up, chaperone, photography. Please fill out your interests and they will be in touch!
