Fremont Elementary School
August 9, 2024
A Message From Mrs. Carmody
Dear Fremont Families,
Another cold week, and hopefully our last one of this winter!
More placement information:
For our Kindergarten Families:
The Elementary School has one multiage classroom. A class of first graders and a class of second graders share a double classroom with two teachers. It is a two year commitment as the first graders will remain in the class for their first and second grade experience. If you are interested in having your child in the 1st/2nd Grade Multiage Classroom, please fill out the following 2025/2026 1st/2nd Multiage Class Preference Form. This is a request, and not a guarantee of placement. Click on this website link for more information.
For our Second Grade Families:
If you are interested in having your child in the 3rd/4th Multiage Classroom, or a team teaching classroom, for the Intermediate School, please complete this 2025/2026 Intermediate Class Preference Form. This is a request, and not a guarantee of placement. Click on this website link for more information.
Please only fill out the form(s) if you are interested in one of these options. You will receive an email confirmation of your submission once completed. If you do not receive an email confirmation, your submission was not received and you will need to re-submit your form. Our number one priority is balanced classrooms. We will institute a lottery system if we have more interest than spots available.
Interest forms must be completed by March 7. If you have further questions about first grade options please reach out to me at bcarmody@fsd79.org. If you have further questions about third grade options please reach out to Stefan Ladenburger, Principal at the Intermediate School. sladenburger@fsd79.org
Repeat from last week-Student Characteristic Form:
As we approach the third trimester, we begin the process of making class placement decisions for the upcoming school year. To ensure we have a well-rounded understanding of each student, we invite families to share any additional information about their child that may not already be known—particularly insights into their learning style or other relevant considerations. If you have information you would like to add, please complete this Student Characteristic Form. We will review family input alongside teacher observations and recommendations as we make placement decisions.
The deadline for submissions of this form is February 28. While we will do our best to consider all input, forms submitted after this date may or may not be included, depending on where we are in the process.
Thank you for your partnership and support!
With gratitude,
Beth Carmody
Our 1st and 2nd graders have been working on their basketball skills in PE class through a fun and engaging game called Space Jam! This game helps students practice dribbling, passing, and shooting while staying active and developing teamwork. It’s been amazing to see their enthusiasm and growth on the court

A friendly reminder about our drop off and pick up line ...
- Please stay in your car when dropping off or picking up your student(s).
- Please do not park in the parking lot and send your student(s) to the school. Stay in the drop-off line.
- Please pull all the way forward in line when dropping off and picking up. Students exit the car on the sidewalk only.
- If you arrive at school after 8:55 am, you must come into the school to sign your student in. Doors close at 8:55 am.
Student Absences
If your child will be absent from school for any reason, please report the absence to the school office by 9:00 a.m. by calling 847-837-0437 option 2. Safety is our number one priority so please help us by reporting as soon as possible. Attendance at school is crucial for your child’s success so every effort should be made to avoid non-health-related absences.
School Lunches
We are going to be phasing out ice cream for sale at the Elementary School. We will begin the phase out by only offering on Fridays. Ice cream is only available to our first and second graders.
