Go Lakers!
In 2016, Jordan took on the inaugural M-Prize challenge, designing a product to help people enjoy Michigan’s fresh waters. At just 8 years old, Jordan Dyment became one of only 12 finalists with her innovative idea: an onboard water filtration system.
Now, 10 years later, Jordan reflects on that experience as she pursues her passion studying Environmental Science at Northern Michigan University. It all started with her M-Prize participation at WBSD!
West Bloomfield High School’s Digital Media Arts & Multimedia Production students made an impressive showing at the SkillsUSA Michigan Leadership Conference in Grand Rapids this past weekend!

On August 4, 2026, voters in Oakland County, MI, will be asked to consider a new Regional Enhancement Millage to support all public schools in the county and eligible public school academies. A regional enhancement millage is the only mechanism school districts may use to increase per-pupil funding. If the millage passes, every penny generated by this proposal would be distributed to all public school districts and eligible public school academies in Oakland County at an average rate of $781 per student.
