Hispanic Heritage Month Begins!
Hispanic Heritage Month!

Week of Sept 14-18
🦁 Week 4: Showing Up, Showing Empathy & Celebrating Culture!
We are officially in Week 4 of our school year, and our Lion Cubs are continuing to learn, grow, and build strong relationships! ❤️
⏰ Every Minute Matters!
Thank you for helping your child arrive at school on time and ready to learn each day. Being on time helps students start their day calmly, participate in morning routines, and make the most of every learning opportunity. Your partnership makes a difference!
💛 Empathy in Action
As we continue focusing on our CKH character trait of Empathy, we encourage our Lion Cubs to think about how others may be feeling and to treat everyone with kindness, understanding, and respect. Families can help by asking, “How do you think they felt?” or “What could you do to make someone feel better?”
🌎 Celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month
September 15–October 15 is Hispanic Heritage Month, a special time to recognize and celebrate the rich cultures, histories, traditions, languages, and contributions of Hispanic and Latino communities. Throughout the month, we will have opportunities for our students to learn, celebrate, and appreciate the many cultures represented in our school community.
Thank you for partnering with us to help our Lion Cubs arrive on time, lead with empathy, and celebrate the beautiful diversity of our community! 🦁❤️

🩺 A Message from Our School Nurse - Un mensaje de la enfermera
When Should I Keep My Child Home?
We know it can be difficult to decide when your child is too sick for school. Our goal is to keep all of our students and staff healthy and learning!
Please consider keeping your child home when they are experiencing:
🌡️ A fever — especially if your child has a temperature of 100.4°F or higher
🤢 Vomiting or diarrhea — your child should be feeling better before returning to school
😷 Significant coughing, difficulty breathing, or other respiratory symptoms that prevent them from comfortably participating in school
😴 Extreme tiredness or weakness that makes it difficult to participate in normal school activities
👁️ Pink eye with drainage or symptoms that have not been evaluated when required
🦠 A contagious illness — please follow your healthcare provider's guidance and school guidelines for when your child may return
If your child is not feeling well enough to learn, play, eat, and participate comfortably, it may be best to give them a day at home to rest and recover.
Thank you for helping us keep our Lion Cubs healthy! 💙🦁
If you are unsure whether your child should attend school, please contact the school nurse for guidance.
