Classroom Environments and Student Support
This August, our staff reviewed the WSD Disciplinary Framework. Our goal is to intentionally foster positive environments, healthy relationships, a culture of belonging, and opportunities for studetns to socially, emotionally, and academically thrive. We will adhere to district policy as to how we respond to behaviors and document incidents. This is not as a punitive measure, but to be sure we are properly identifiying needs and see when there are patterns of behavior.
BOB (Battle of the Books) Coach Needed
We are seeking a volunteer coach for our upcoming Battle of the Books season. BOB is open to any student in 4th-8th grade. What you'll do:
Organize student teams and adult team leaders
Run the final school battle (questions are written for you)
Celebrate a love of reading!
No experience necessary—just a passion for books. Our previous coach Sally Courtney is available to answer questions. For details, please contact the assistant school librarian, Jenice Carolan, carolaje@wauwatosa.k12.wi.us or see the Battle of the Book website https://sites.googlecom/wemta.org/battle/home
Immunizations for School
Wisconsin law requires students to have certain immunizations to attend school. You can find the specific requirements by age on the Department of Health Services website.
If you see an immunization alert when logging into Infinite Campus, please follow these steps:
Check the Wisconsin Immunization Registry
Visit the Wisconsin Immunization Registry and print a copy of your student's immunization record. Make sure their name and date of birth are clearly visible on the printout.Missing Immunizations?
If some immunizations are not listed in the registry, contact your child's medical provider to get a complete copy.Need to Catch Up?
If your child is behind on required immunizations, schedule an appointment with their medical provider.Submit Records
Bring a copy of your child’s immunization record to your school’s health office.
Immunization Waivers
Wisconsin allows immunization waivers for medical, religious, or personal reasons. You can find the waiver form and additional information on the Department of Health Services Immunization Page.
Medication at School
Medications that students need to take during the school day are stored in the health room and administered to students by school staff. Medication is not stored in student lockers or backpacks. If your student needs medication during the school day, please complete the appropriate medication form and turn the form and medication (in the original packaging) into the main office or the health room.
If you have any questions about medication your student needs during the school day, please contact Nurse Katelyn at Lasseka@wauwatosa.k12.wi.us.
