Some thoughts for the starting second semester
Great things ahead in 2025
Hello Bracker Dolphin families and welcome to the New Year. We are excited to see all our young Dolphins back at Bracker for another unbelievable semester of academic excellence.
December brought many celebrations and academic gains. Our wonderful students demonstrated their initiative and skills in art contests, spelling bees, musical performances and clubs. We expect the same high level of engagement this second semester of school.
During this time of cold, we highly encourage your child to wear the correct winter attire daily. Any clothing items left in school are available to pick up in the lost and found outside the cafeteria. We will be donating any clothing items not retrieved weekly on Friday, so it is important that you come collect those items soon.
The month of January begins with much anticipation. We have many exiting events, and academic goals to meet before May. In order to accomplish having excellent attendance is imperative. Please ensure your child is here, on time each and every day. Early release at 12:45 continues every Wednesday this month. Please be on time to pick up your child.
Morning Tutoring and afterschool clubs begins this Monday the 14th of January. Picking your child up daily from school on time at 2:45 for regular dismissal, and 3:45 for clubs and tutoring is essential.

January 20th, school will be closed in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
January 21sy marks our 100th day of school. Let’s celebrate.
January 22nd, the 4th grade only will host a parent meeting at 7:45 a.m. It is imperative that all parents attend.
January 24th, NUSD will hold the District Spelling Bee.

This semester we continue to prepare for the AZELLA test to be completed in February, as well as the AASA, Science and Writing Tests to be held in late March and early April. Attendance, and academic practice are key indicators to success on these important tests. Please continue to encourage your child’s school performance and help them prepare.
We will be having several exciting events and programs this semester, and are excited to continue academic excellence in our 2024 National Blue-Ribbon School.
