Afterwards, you will select from the available times that the teacher has that will best suit your schedule. It will also ask you to select whether you will attend in-person or virtually.

Student Spotlight
We are excited to celebrate Marcus this week! Marcus was identified by several adults in our school community this week who noticed his exemplary leadership.
Marcus' teacher says, "He is a wonderful student who consistently demonstrates kindness, honesty, and high integrity. He always chooses to do the right thing. He is also a caring big brother to his kindergarten twin brothers and lives out our daily morning affirmation - "I will be a leader in this beautiful world I'm in" - by consistently leading by example. He truly deserves to be recognized as Student of the Week!
PBIS at WMES: Paw Points & Celebrating Positive Choices!
WMES is proud to continue and expand our PBIS (Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports) program, fostering a welcoming and encouraging environment across our entire campus. Throughout the day, students are recognized for showing our core expectationsβbeing Respectful, Responsible, and Safeβin the classroom and all schoolwide spaces.
How Paw Points Work
Earning Points: Any adult in the building can reward students with Paw Points whenever they catch them demonstrating positive behaviors.
Tracking Progress: All earned points are logged and saved digitally in the PBIS Rewards app, making it easy to celebrate student achievements.
Exciting Reward Stores
Classroom Stores: Teachers maintain individual classroom stores stocked with fun incentives and experiences that students can redeem directly using their PBIS Rewards points.
School Experience Store (Launching Next Week!): We are excited to announce the launch of our schoolwide Experience Store! Starting next week, students can use their Paw Points to purchase admission to exclusive, high-energy positive experiences and special campus events.

Literacy Tip of the Week
Read and Think Aloud
When reading with your child, share your thoughts out loud as you read. Saying things like, βI wonder why the character did that?β or βThat reminds me of something that happened to meβ helps children learn how good readers think while they read.
Try this at home: During your familyβs reading time, pause occasionally and model your thinking by asking questions, making predictions, or noticing important details. Encourage your child to share their thoughts, too!
Examples:
βI wonder what will happen next.β
βWhy do you think the character made that choice?β
βThis part seems important becauseβ¦β
βI think the problem will be solved byβ¦β
Remember: Strong readers do more than read the words on a page. They think about what they are reading, ask questions, make connections, and reflect on the story. When you model these skills aloud, you help your child become a more thoughtful reader.
Family Challenge: Choose a book to read together this week. Each family member should share at least one βthinking aloudβ comment during the reading. Keep track of your questions, predictions, and connections, then discuss which ideas were confirmed by the end of the story!
Every conversation about a book helps build stronger reading comprehension and a lifelong love of reading!
