Lucas' Blog

Tuesday night our 5th grade students alongside Mrs. Andrews put on quite a show taking us back in time through each of their concerts. The students sang songs from each of their years at Piney Woods, naming off their teachers, administrators, and best memories. It was quite a treat. I enjoy all of the concerts but each year Mrs. Andrews brings down the house with this trip down memory lane. These 5th graders put on their last performance at Piney Woods in front of a great crowd of parents, grandparents, and other family. A huge thank you to our CAMP teachers for always making learning fun and engaging.

Piney Woods Proud!

Lane Schuler, a 3rd grader at Piney Wood Elementary, competed at The State Fair and Livestock this past weekend with his Limousin heifers. He got first in class twice and then went on to win division champion.

Graphing Skittles

In Mrs. Kinard's class students practiced their graphing skills by sorting skittles into like colors, creating the bar graph, while also representing the number in tally marks. The best manipulative are the ones you get to eat!

Let's go fishin!

Mrs. Trimm's students are fishing for addition! What a fun way to learn about numbers and how to add them.

Let's get moving 2nd grade

Students in Miss. Goodrum's class are identifying the different types of movement using marbles & paint!

Dirt Pudding!

Second graders have been learning about procedural texts. They wrote a recipe for Dirt Pudding and then followed their recipe to make Dirt Pudding!
