A Few Words From the Principal

Students, I have been looking at your FastBridge reading scores and they look AMAZING! There are many of you that made double digit gains. I am looking forward to seeing what you do on Wednesday when you will take your FastBridge math assessment. Make sure you come prepared with your MacBook charged and that you are charged with a good nights sleep and breakfast.

Parents, we will be sharing FastBridge scores with you at conferences. Thank you for talking with your student and helping them to be prepared to do their best.

I hope everyone has a great long weekend and enjoy Monday off.

Take care!

We will be taking the FastBridge Math assessment on Wednesday, September 9th. Testing will take place in the morning to allow for every student to be fresh and ready to do their best. All students will test at the same time with their WIN class first thing in the morning. We will be following the above testing bell schedule. This change worked very well on Wednesday the 2nd for ELA testing, and we're excited to see our students do their best work!

Attendance Information

To ensure the safety of our students, please report all full-day absences (illness, etc.) and late arrivals due to morning appointments by 8:30 a.m. You may call the school attendance line at 913-422-5854 or use the online absence reporting form. The school will call to follow-up with unreported absences after 8:30. Students arriving tardy after 7:55 must enter through the front office doors (you are not required to escort late students inside, but if your student is late due to an appointment, please report it to the office so their attendance is appropriately marked or make sure they bring in an appointment note when they arrive).

Students are allowed ten (10) days of excused absences per school year without an accompanying doctor’s note. (This includes illness and “parent request” absences, which should be coordinated with the school in advance). Absences in excess of ten (10) without accompanying documentation will be considered unexcused. Missing a substantial portion of a day (three (3) or more class periods) shall be considered one "day."

You are not required to notify the office in advance if you will be checking a student out during the school day for an appointment. Please have your ID ready at the door, state your student's name and indicate you are checking them out, and complete the student check out inside and we will call your student from class at that time. Students will only be released to parent/guardians or emergency contacts listed in Skyward unless coordinated in advance with the school.

ACP - After-school Conditioning Program ACP - After-school Conditioning Program

The Afterschool Conditioning Program, ACP for short, encourages students to build or maintain strength and endurance in preparation for upcoming sports seasons or just for fun. It will consist of 2 training days per week on Tuesdays and Thursdays, with the former focused on strength and the latter on endurance. Both days will include challenges and games to encourage students to push themselves physically. We will meet in the Commons at 3:15 each day (unless in the case of sports conflicts, when we will instead meet in the Activity Center) and finish at 4:00 PM.

There will be an informational meeting for interested students during WIN on Tuesday, September 8th!

From Student Council

Students, how well do you know popular music? Can you listen to the first few seconds of a song and name that tune? Stay after school from 3:15-4:15 on Wednesday, September 16 and join us for a few rounds of music bingo. We'll have prizes for the winners and snacks for all. Open to all MT students. No cost to participate.
