The Norwell High School seniors and Cole School alum came for their final walk at Cole School on Thursday wearing their caps and gowns. The students and staff lined the halls to cheer them on. It is such a wonderful tradition! Congratulations to Class of 2024!

The Cole School Art Show was held on Wednesday and was a huge success thanks to Mr. Menice, staff and parent volunteers, high school student volunteers, and the amazing student artists. The artwork is exceptional! Student behavior was also commendable! It made for an enjoyable evening for everyone in attendance. Thank you all for helping make it a great event!

Grade 3 students and kindergarten students went on field trips this week. Grade 3 traveled to Norris Reservation and Gaffield Park for their Fitness Field Trip with Mr. Thornton. Kindergarten students traveled to Egypt Beach to explore the tidepools. Many thanks to the PTO for sponsoring these field trips!

Cafeteria staff will be sending home letters next week to any families that have negative balances in their lunch accounts. Please take a moment to pay any open balances this weekend.

We had so many students nominated this week for Magnificent Meerkats! This group of Meerkats have been showing expected behaviors, have been kind and friendly to others, and have been working hard in academic areas! Here are a few of the reasons for nominations this week:

  • She is a sweet girl with a big personality! She arrives at school each day with a positive and cheerful attitude and is ready to learn. She always lends a hand to her peers and is incredibly helpful to me, organizing all the math games. She truly stands out as a Magnificent Meerkat in first grade!
  • Quiet, yet patient, she is a great listener who is a thoughtful contributor in class. Humble, yet skilled, she strives to do her best. Respectful and loyal, she has made many strong friendships and connections with her peers this year! Keep shining brightly!!!
  • He has worked hard over the past few weeks to maintain his focus and self-control. He has given his best effort on all assignments and consistently participates in class discussions. I am so proud of the work he has put in!

As a reward for their successful completion of the Let’s Move Fitness Program, third graders had a fitness field trip through Norris Reservation and a picnic lunch at Gaffield Park. The goals of the program were to encourage physical activity and healthy informed food choices for at least one dinner a week. The divided MyPlate showed the recommended portions of five food groups that are part of a healthy diet, fruits, vegetables, grains, protein, and dairy. Way to eat healthy third graders!
