Greatness On The Horizon - Live The Mission
A Message From Mrs. Gabriela Elliott, Campus Principal
Greetings Ravens! Thank you for a strong second week of the school year. How has your child been adjusting and experiencing school? It is great seeing their big smiles in the morning as they get dropped off. Thank you for your trust and support.
Save The Date: Coffee With Principal August 22nd at 9am.
Student ID's: All students should have received their IDs. IDs are mandatory for bus transportation. They also help our lunch lines run faster. Replacement IDs will be $5.
School Dances: School dances are a privilege. Students with excessive absences, failing grades or any discipline referral will not be allowed to attend. Every 9 weeks is a new opportunity to reset do things better.
Drop off: Our drop is in the west side of the school. We are opening the building at 7:15am on the west student drop off area to accommodate for all of our arrivals. Scholars may report to the cafeteria for breakfast when they arrive before 7:45am. We have grab and go breakfast for those arriving at 7:45. They then report directly to their classroom. We have monitors in every hall supervising.
Arriving On Time and Classroom Transitions: Thank you parents for getting your children to school on time. First bell rings at 7:45am and our tardy bell rings at 8:00am. We also want to ensure that students transition between classes on time. Please note, students accumulating 3 or more tardies in a week will result in lunch detention. Please encourage your child to get to their classes on time.
Capturing Kid's Hearts: We have started our Capturing Kid's Hearts (CKH) Lessons. Please read below for ways you can assist and reinforce this month's theme of Empathy at home. Our attached newsletters provide an overview of what CKH is all about.
Water Bottles: Please ensure your children bring water bottles every day. It is very hot outside and very important for them to stay hydrated.
Safety: Our perimeter doors are always locked. We have designated visitor parking at the front of the school for those entering our building. Please be prepared with an identification.
PE: All students suit out for physical education, and it is a daily grade. We encourage our students to bring a lock and secure their belongings.
Volunteer Opportunities: Interested in becoming a Raven Parent Volunteer? Please contact our Parent Liaison at 915-938-3006.
Please do not hesitate to call or e-mail me or any of the Eastlake Middle School Staff, if you have additional questions. I will continue sending monthly and weekly newsletters through blackboard and post them on our school website, as well as twitter to keep you informed and involved throughout the school year. Also, please follow us on Twitter for daily highlights and announcements: @Eastlake_Middle.
Respectfully,
Gabriela Elliott, Proud Raven Principal
