Dear parents, carers, staff and friends, Dear parents, carers, staff and friends,

Some news... Some news...

We want to let you know that Gregor Kerr will be retiring at the end of this school year after over 30 years of teaching service at our school. Greg is an outstanding teacher and leader and has been a constant and central part of our community throughout his time here. We are going to miss him enormously - children, staff, families and the wider community. There is lots we will say over the coming weeks as we say our goodbyes, and we know there will be many pupils and families (past and present) who will want to wish him well for his retirement. For now, we just wanted to let you know so that you have a chance to say your own goodbye and thanks before the end of the month.

Active Week Active Week

Next week is Active Week and our Active Team have so many exciting things planned! The children will be very active in their learning with lots of different activities planned throughout the week. They will also have active homework!

We are measuring our steps and activity throughout the week to see if together we can walk the number of steps it would take to walk the length of Ireland! So if you can, get off the bus a stop earlier than usual or park the car a little further away and join in our Active Week.

Our Playleaders have special morning activities planned for different age groups and we'd love you to join in - so wear comfortable clothes on the drop-off!

International Food Fair - Friday! International Food Fair - Friday!

One of the highlights of our year - our International Food Fair - will take place on Friday, 13th June from 1.00 p.m. You are invited to bring a traditional dish to share and to wear your traditional clothes or colours. It is an event for the whole family and we are looking forward to seeing everyone there!

We were so proud of Julia and Isobel from 4th Class this week. The girls prepared questions for astronaut Commander Takaya Onishi alongside children from other local schools and attended special training in TU Dublin. Isobel got the chance to speak LIVE to Commander Onishi on the International Space Station! It was so exciting for the children to be part of such an amazing and 'once in a lifetime' experience. All of 4th Class were invited to TU Dublin's SpaceFest events and designed their own moon bases. A great day! Thanks to Sean for coordinating.

Pride Flag Raising

On Tuesday, we raised our Pride Flag in the yard. Nadine, our Student Council chairperson and member of the Diversity and Inclusion team spoke about the importance of including everyone and being respectful of our differences. We sang 'One Little Voice' and Greg's Class shared the rap they wrote for the 'Different Families Same Love' competition. Thank you to Patricia and the Diversity Team for organising this for us.

As we've been sharing over the last few weeks, all schools in Ireland have to update their anti-bullying procedures for September 2025. Following consultations with children, staff and parents/carers, we are attaching our draft policy for your review. Please read it carefully. We welcome any feedback you'd like to give - please let us know if anything is unclear or you would like further explanation about any part of the policy. We would ask for feedback by Monday, 9th June, where possible. Thank you.
