Gators,

Welcome to October! We have several important dates and reminders coming up this month. Please take a moment to review the information below.

Quarter 1 Ends – October 9

The first quarter of the school year ends on October 9. Please encourage your student to finish the quarter strong and stay on top of assignments and assessments.

FTE Week – October 5–9

FTE Week is October 5–9. During this week, the school takes a snapshot of student enrollment and attendance. It is especially important that your child is present at school every day during FTE Week.

Thank you for helping us ensure accurate attendance and enrollment information for our school.

Report Cards – October 19

Quarter 1 report cards will be available in the parent/student portal on October 19.

Please note that middle school report cards are not printed. Families will need to access report cards through the portal.

If you have questions or concerns about your student's grades, please contact the appropriate teacher directly. We also encourage families to make it a good practice to check grades in the portal weekly so you can stay informed about your student's progress throughout the quarter.

Thank you for your continued support and partnership. We appreciate everything you do to help your student have a successful school year!

Have a wonderful October!

Mary Ann Gallegos

Principal

Mr. Berning, Assistant Principal of Curriculum and Instruction

Hello Gator Families,

I know it’s hard to believe, but we’re already wrapping up a successful Quarter 1. In an effort to stay informed, it’s important to remain current with your child’s grades by checking Focus on a weekly basis. If you have any questions about them, please reach out to your child’s teacher(s). Furthermore, as we move forward into the year, please remind your child(ren) about creating the habits of being a good student. This includes turning in assignments on time, participating in class, and studying for tests/assessments. Furthermore, remind your child(ren) about the importance of upcoming district and state assessments. This includes our upcoming quarterly benchmark assessments taking place next week October 5-9, the 8th grade PSAT on October 21, along with the FAST PM2 which occurs after Winter Break. Thank you for your commitment to your child’s success.

Please let me know if you want me to adjust in any way.

Mrs. Chavez, Attendance and Discipline

We are proud of the many students who continue to demonstrate our GATOR Traits throughout campus: Gratitude, Achievement, Teamwork, Ownership, and Respect. These positive behaviors help create a safe, supportive, and engaging learning environment where all students can thrive.

During National Attendance Awareness Month, our students had an exciting opportunity to earn a dress-down day each week! The grade level with the highest attendance average for the week earned the reward, and the response from students was incredible. We saw tremendous participation, enthusiasm, and school spirit as students worked together to achieve strong attendance.

We also had the pleasure of celebrating our September Students of the Month with a special luncheon. These students are nominated by their teachers and are recognized for their hard work, positive attitude, and contributions to our school community. At the end of each month, we will continue recognizing outstanding students through our Student of the Month initiative.

Lastly, our PBIS Day is coming up! Students can earn the opportunity to attend by demonstrating positive behavior and strong academic effort. We are excited to celebrate the hard work and growth of our students, and we hope to see as many students as possible participate in this special event.

We encourage families to make attendance a priority and ensure students arrive on time, ready to learn, and prepared to make the most of every school day. As always, we thank our families for your partnership and support. Together, we can help our students succeed by reinforcing the importance of regular attendance, encouraging positive behavior, and celebrating the accomplishments that make our GATOR community so special.
