Dear Holy Trinity Families,

What a beautiful fall week at Holy Trinity! There is something so special about this time of year, the cooler mornings, the changing leaves, and the opportunity to slow down just a little and enjoy the beauty God has placed all around us.

I had the privilege of spending the day at Damascus with our sixth graders for their Science and Faith Retreat, and it was truly incredible. Watching our students experience science and nature through the lens of our faith was such a beautiful reminder that God is present in all of creation. Our students learned, explored, prayed, laughed, and grew together as a class. I was so proud of them! Experiences like this are such an important part of what makes a Holy Trinity education special. We don't simply want our students to learn about the world; we want them to recognize the Creator within it.

Yesterday (Sept. 26) was National PTU Appreciation Day, and Mr. Kaufhold and I certainly cannot let the weekend pass without celebrating our incredible PTU! We are so grateful not only for our current PTU, but also for all of the parents who have served Holy Trinity through the years. So much of what makes our school community special has been made possible because parents have been willing to step forward, give their time, share their talents, and say, “How can I help?” Whether you have served on the PTU, volunteered at an event, helped behind the scenes, or simply showed up when your children needed you, please know how much you are appreciated. Our PTU truly helps create the sense of family that we treasure at Holy Trinity, and we are so blessed by the amazing parents who give so much of themselves to our school. Thank you!

This Friday (Oct. 2) is going to be a very special day at Holy Trinity. We will celebrate our second Live Different Day by gathering together around our faith, God's creation, and the gift of community. We will begin with our Pet Blessing in honor of St. Francis of Assisi. We are so excited to welcome our families and their pets and to take a little time to recognize the gift of God's creation. St. Francis reminds us to see God's goodness in all that surrounds us and to live with humility, gratitude, and love. One of the words often associated with St. Francis is, “Preach the Gospel at all times and when necessary use words.” What a beautiful reminder for all of us as we continue to Live Different! Love like Jesus!

Our day will continue in a beautiful way as we welcome our friends from St. Mary's in the afternoon for Eucharistic Adoration. What a gift it will be for our students to move from celebrating God's creation and the joy of our pets to simply being still in the presence of Jesus. It will be a special opportunity for our two school communities to pray together and to remember that, at the heart of everything we do, is our love for Christ. We truly think it is going to be one of those special Holy Trinity days that our students will remember.

Lastly, Parent Teacher conferences will be next week. We will be offering afternoon/evening options on Wednesday, Oct. 7 and during school hours on Thursday, Oct. 8. Look for communication from your teaching teams this week to schedule.

We are blessed to have such a wonderful Holy Trinity family. Thank you for all you do to make our school such a special place for our children.

Reminder to follow us on Facebook, Instagram and X (Twitter) where we share lots of great things happening in our school!

Live Different,

Ms. Flanagan and Mr. Kaufhold

A Special Celebration of God’s Creation

We are excited to invite our Holy Trinity families to a special Pet Blessing on Friday, October 2 at 9 am in the back field of the school, as we celebrate the beauty of God’s creation and the special place our pets hold in our families.

St. Francis of Assisi reminds us to appreciate and care for all of God’s creatures. This special blessing is an opportunity to give thanks for the joy, companionship, and unconditional love our pets bring into our lives.

Families who would like to participate are asked to sign up using the link below so we can plan for this event.

Pet Blessing Sign-Up:

Parking: The South Lot is the preferred parking area for families attending the Pet Blessing. Staff members will be present to help direct traffic and parking when you arrive.

We look forward to sharing this special moment together as a school community and celebrating the many ways God blesses our families through His beautiful creation.

Support Shanerock’s ClamRock!

We hope our Holy Trinity families will consider supporting the Shanerock ClamRock in honor of Shane Haddad, one of our past St. Baldrick’s honorees. Shane was diagnosed with brain and spinal cord cancer at just 3 years old. His family’s experience inspired his parents, Amy and Eric Haddad, to create the Shanerock Foundation, a local nonprofit dedicated to helping other families facing pediatric cancer. (SHANEROCK)

This year, Shanerock is celebrating 10 years of supporting local families. During that time, the organization has helped more than 500 families and provided more than $900,000 in assistance. Shanerock helps families with the significant financial challenges that can accompany a childhood cancer diagnosis, providing assistance for care, resources, equipment and other needs. (SHANEROCK)

ClamRock will be a fun evening for a wonderful cause, featuring a classic clambake, pizza, food, open bar, live music and games. Proceeds benefit and support local families battling pediatric cancer. (SHANEROCK)

Saturday, October 17, 2026 | 6–10 PM
St. Clarence Church
30106 Lorain Road, North Olmsted

We hope you’ll consider joining the Shanerock community for this special evening and helping continue the mission inspired by Shane: supporting local children and families when they need it most.
