ACHIEVEMENTS
It is with great pleasure that I share with you the latest developments and achievements within our school community.
The return to Sledmere School has been met with an overwhelming sense of joy and enthusiasm from all quarters. It is heartening to witness the palpable happiness radiating throughout our corridors and classrooms as pupils and staff alike embrace the opportunity to reconnect and engage in the pursuit of knowledge.
It gives me immense pride to commend the behaviour demonstrated by our pupils in spite of the poor weather over the last couple of weeks. Their conduct is a testament to the values we instil and the positive atmosphere we collectively cultivate. The respect, kindness, and diligence exhibited by our students contribute significantly to the harmonious learning environment we all cherish.
I would be remiss if I did not highlight the remarkable enthusiasm and adaptability shown by our Classes 1 and 2 upon their return to school. The joy and eagerness with which these young learners have embraced their educational journey is truly inspiring. Their positive attitudes and willingness to engage fully in the learning process, in spite of the upheaval they faced, bode well for their future academic endeavours.

ENHANCEMENT OF OUR LEARNING ENVIRONMENT
We continue to prioritise the enhancement of our learning environment, recognising its pivotal role in fostering academic growth and personal development. Our ongoing collaboration with the Early Excellence team in the local authority in the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) is yielding promising results, as we strive to create an optimal setting for our youngest learners. Furthermore, we are dedicating considerable efforts to the improvement of the EYFS outdoor area, our woodland area and Learning Garden, ensuring that our pupils have access to diverse and stimulating outdoor spaces that complement their educational journey.
We will be seeking the views of the children in the next few weeks to help us as we begin to plan and shape these changes.
WELLBEING
At the heart of our educational philosophy lies an unwavering commitment to the wellbeing of both our pupils and staff. We firmly believe that a nurturing and supportive environment is fundamental to academic success and personal growth. To this end, we have allocated substantial time and resources to actively listen to our children, working collaboratively with them to address any concerns or challenges they may encounter. This approach not only fosters a sense of belonging but also equips our pupils with valuable problem-solving skills that will serve them well beyond their time at our school.
Please remind your children that they can talk to any member of staff and share any concerns no matter how small or big. Thank you.
