Hello James Sales families,

Our last testing dates are June 1st and 2nd. Our fifth graders will take the WCAS Science assessment.

1. Make sure your child gets a good night sleep the night before testing.

2. Make sure your child attends school on testing day. Avoid scheduling appointments on testing day.

Also, I want to extend my heartfelt gratitude to the entire James Sales community for an amazing thirteen years as your principal. I am deeply appreciative of all I have learned from both the students and the parents. Your support, trust, and partnership have shaped me in ways I will always carry with me. This community will forever hold a special place in my heart, and although I will not be returning next year, I leave with immense pride and gratitude. I hope you all enjoy a wonderful summer together and continue building the strong, caring school family that makes James Sales so special.

Sincerely,
Brandy Nelson
Principal, James Sales Elementary

We are preparing for the 2026-27 school year! Enrollment for new kindergarten through grade 5 students who live within our attendance boundaries is now open. A child must be five years of age on or before August 31, 2026 to be eligible to enroll in kindergarten. Please prepare to register by obtaining medically verified immunization records, birth certificate, and a proof of residence (utility bill, lease/rental agreement, or mortgage papers). All enrollment is done online. Click here to access the enrollment application or go to fpschools.org and click on enrollment.

Current students who live within James Sales boundaries are automatically enrolled at James Sales for next year. Students who were overloaded to James Sales for the 25-26 school year will return to their home schools for 2026-27. Students living within our district but outside of James Sales boundaries who want to attend James Sales must complete a within-district transfer form online. Click on the Transfers and Homeschool link to access the correct form. Out-of-district students who wish to attend James Sales must complete a new out-of-district transfer (Choice Transfer) from their home district to be considered for enrollment at James Sales.

Return Library Books

The end of the school year is quickly approaching! It is time to look under beds, in closets, and other hiding places for those overdue and lost library books. Students who have overdue books or unpaid library fines will be excluded from participation in field trips and field day unless these books are returned or fines paid before these events. Our goal is to have all books turned in so every student can participate in field day. If you have any questions, please email Mrs. Bruce – jbruce@fpschools.org or call 253-298-4200.

The end of the day at James Sales is a hectic time! If you forgot to send a note in the morning and need to call the office with a change to your child’s schedule, please do so before 2:40 so the office can get a message to your student before they leave for the day. All end of day schedule changes must be made through the office, not with the classroom teacher. The office will ensure the teacher is informed of the change. If you need to pick up your student early from school, please do so before 2:40 as well.

May Junior Adventure Club at Snoqualmie Tunnel May Junior Adventure Club at Snoqualmie Tunnel

For the final adventure of the year, the James Sales Adventure Club invited our 3rd graders to join them for a hike through the 2.3 mile long Snoqualmie Tunnel for a total or 4.6 miles! It was a spooky and unique experience for our junior adventurers and their families.

This was our last adventure for the 25-26 school year and Mr. Horak's 10th year organizing an Adventure Club. We are looking forward to next year's hiking experiences and making memories

with our new 4th and 5th graders and their families. Parents can complete their volunteer applications for the 26-27 school year after July 31st to be ready to join their students on the monthly adventures!

Electronics at School

We understand that sometimes electronic devices are necessary and that some students will have them at school. At James Sales, we have an “Off and Away” policy. Cellphones and other electronics must be turned off and placed in a student’s backpack while at school.

If you need to contact your child during the day, please contact the main office at 253-298-4200. If your child needs to call you, their teacher will find an appropriate time for them to call.

Please note - we are not responsible for lost, stolen, or broken electronics. If possible, please leave these items at home.
