WELCOME
to the the LISD STEM Academy at Hebron Valley
Week of November 2nd
HVSA Families:
November has arrived, bringing a wonderful opportunity to pause and give thanks. We are so grateful for our HVSA families and the difference you make in our school community. Your support, generosity, and partnership help make our school a special place for our Huskies. We couldn’t do it without you!
This week, we celebrated Seal House for winning our monthly house competition! Students earned extra recess and had a wonderful time celebrating together.
Our Monster Mash was also a huge success! A special thank you to our PTA for creating such a fun evening for our families. Jenny Chae did a remarkable job leading the festivities, and Brittney Spera did a phenomenal job organizing our silent auction. Thank you to every volunteer, staff member, and family who helped make the night so memorable!
If you don’t have dinner plans tonight, make plans to attend Parry’s Pizza Spirit Night from 5–10 p.m. Be sure to mention Hebron Valley when you order so your visit supports our school.
As a reminder, there is no school on Tuesday, November 3. We look forward to another great week with our Huskies!
Respectfully,
Laura Zamora
Principal
Veterans Day Ceremony
On Wednesday, November 11th at 9:00am, our 5th graders will lead our students in a patriotic assembly honoring the men and women who have served our country. Veterans attending the ceremony are invited to arrive at 8:30am to be welcomed by our Student Council members. During the ceremony, each veteran will be introduced by their student council escort, giving our students an opportunity to recognize and celebrate their service. A short reception for the veterans will follow. If your family knows a veteran that would like to attend, please fill out these two forms:
- Form 1: Veteran Recognition – Provide the name of the veteran we will be honoring
- Form 2: HVSA Guest List – Please complete one form for each adult that will accompany the veteran.
Thank you for helping us make this a special opportunity for our Huskies to say thank you to the heroes who have served our country.
Nurse Notes: Hearing and Vision
Hearing & Vision Screenings
1st, 3rd, and 5th grades will have vision and hearing screenings this week and continue until all students requiring screening have been screened.
If your child wears glasses or contact lenses, please ensure they wear them to school each day, so they are prepared for their screening.
For questions or concerns, please call the nurse’s office at 972-350-8603.

Car Line Safety Reminders
Arrival and dismissal are going smoothly thanks to your support! Please help us keep the line safe and efficient with these quick reminders:
Right Turn Only: Remember to turn right (no left turns) at the stop sign when exiting the parking lot.
Practice Independence: Have your child practice buckling, unbuckling, and operating the car door independently.
Quick Goodbyes: Say your hugs and goodbyes before reaching the drop off zone to keep traffic moving smoothly.
Buckle Up Zone: If your child needs hands on assistance with their seatbelt, please pull into a designated parking spot rather than holding up the main line.
Lunch Visitors
Important Lunch & Campus Visit Reminders:
Bring Your Physical ID: Please buzz in at the front office with your physical driver's license (photos on phones cannot be accepted). To keep our campus secure, our staff will ask to see your ID every time you visit—even if you're a familiar face!
Extended Family Visits: If a family member is joining your student without a parent present, please ensure you’ve submitted permission via our online sign-up sheet (link coming in a couple of weeks). These guests will also need a physical driver's license to check in.
Food is for Your Student Only: Please only bring food for your own child, as students are not permitted to share food items.
Visitor Seating: We have reserved designated lunch tables in the cafeteria specifically for visitors and their students.
1-on-1 Time: Please enjoy this special one-on-one time with your child! Other classmates will remain at their standard lunch tables.
- A Friendly Reminder About Food Deliveries: We cannot accept commercial food deliveries (DoorDash, UberEats, etc.) for students. If a delivery arrives at the building, our office team will not be able to accept it. We appreciate your help and understanding! We are so excited to welcome you to campus!
