Is Mr. Liss Wearing a Hat?
Itβs cold outside, and while we typically bring students into the building before school, there are times when they will be asked to line up outdoors. A good rule of thumb is to check whether Mr. Liss is wearing a hat during drop-offβif he is, students go inside; if he isnβt, they line up outside.
Students also go outside for recess in cold weather, so they should come dressed warmly and prepared. Fresh air and active play are important for helping them burn off energy and stay healthy.
Treasurer Update
In last week's Tiger Town News, we provided a Revenue Recap to share the amount raised to date as well as how those funds were raised. This week we're providing an update on Expenditures to date.
The image below illustrates how we invest the funds raised back into our school community - supplementing classroom and staff needs, scheduling cultural arts assemblies, operating our Learning Garden, upkeeping the courtyard project, recognizing and celebrating the amazing 70+ Staff Members at CAS, welcoming new families to our school and much, much more throughout the year! Reminder that these are just expenses to date!
Less than 10% of funds raised are spent on Administration & Operations throughout the entire school year. The current percentage below is a bit inflated because we spend the majority of that budget line from September through November of the school year - renewing all of our platform subscriptions (Squarespace, Quickbooks, Smore), working with our Accountant on our filings, paying renewal, filing and application fees for NJ Annual Report, Charity Registration, Game of Chance Licenses, etc. and restocking some our necessary PTO office supplies and materials.

Lunch Volunteers Needed this Winter!
Winter sign-ups are now open! Volunteering during lunch is a great way to see your children in their school day habitat. You will assist in opening up lunch items, keeping the lunch lines moving, and ensuring the students clean up after themselves. REMINDERS: Volunteers should oversee ALL children in the lunchroom when volunteering. Please only limit your sign ups to 2 dates only as we have a lot of volunteers hoping to come in during this time. Lunch begins at 11:00am and ends at 12:30pm. Please contact Danielle Carreon (Danielle.asuncion@gmail.com) or Rachel Cushing (CushingFamily37@outlook.com) with any questions.

Revised Elementary Report Cards
The elementary teaching team looks forward to sharing your childβs progress with you at our upcoming parentβteacher conferences. As a district, we have worked diligently to adopt consistent assessments that highlight student goals in reading, writing, and mathematics. We value the partnership we share with you in supporting your child's learning journey. It is our hope that you find these conferences meaningful and supportive.
In alignment with the State of New Jerseyβs recently updated literacy and mathematics standards, we have also revised our district report cards. We extend our sincere gratitude to the teachers, coaches, and principals who contributed to this important work. We would especially like to acknowledge our report card committee βMrs. Caruso, Mrs. Garita, Mrs. Herring, Mrs. Kohler, Mr. Letchinger, Mrs. Mahon, and Mrs. Schaeferβfor their exceptional efforts in creating clear, concise, and informative report cards that support meaningful communication about student learning.
We are also grateful to the TJS, KRS, and CAS PTO presidents for their valuable feedback throughout the development process.
It truly takes a village to support our students. During this season of gratitude, I want to thank our parents for your ongoing trust and collaboration, and our educators for your unwavering dedication. We are grateful that our village is Madison.
Please preview the newly revised report cards here.
