Family Newsletter : October 16, 2026

Hello Families,

It was wonderful to see you all in the building over the last two days! I know I speak for our teachers when I say, “We LOVE Family Teacher Conferences!”

Celebrating each child’s growth and helping them develop meaningful goals for learning are some of the most rewarding parts of our work. These conversations strengthen the partnership between home and school and remind us that education is about so much more than academic achievement. It’s about nurturing independence, confidence, curiosity, and a lifelong love of learning.

In Montessori education, we recognize that every child develops along their own unique path. Family Teacher Conferences provide an opportunity to reflect on that journey, celebrate progress, identify next steps, and work together to support the whole child.

Thank you for taking the time to connect with our teachers, celebrate your children, and be active partners in their education. We are grateful for our MMA community!

We are at 90.2% attendance so far this year! Great work students and families getting to school on time, every day! It makes a difference!

MMA’s 25-26 school report card is now available on the USBE website. Some notable achievements are “Commendable” growth of 6.8% in ELA, 4.2% in Math, and 5.5% in science! Students reading on grade level increased by 19.6%! Our teachers are amazing and our students are motivated. Thank you for the support you provide your students at home and at school.

In accordance with Utah's School Technology Amendments (SB 88), parents may access their student's internet activity on school-managed Chromebooks through the iBoss Parent Portal.

The portal allows parents to review internet activity (for school issued devices) both during and outside school hours using the iBoss Parent Portal app, available for Android and iOS devices.

To request access, please contact Tausha Marietti - tmarietti@mmautah.org. She will send an enrollment email with instructions and a registration code to activate your account.

This resource is available to help families monitor their student's online activity and promote responsible technology use.

Upcoming Event : International Festival Upcoming Event : International Festival

Dear Families,

We are excited to invite you to our school's International Festival on Friday, November 20, from 1:00 to 3:00 pm!

This year's theme is "Peace Begins Here: Celebrating Every Culture." In a busy world, we want our school to be a place where every culture, every family and every voice is welcomed and celebrated. We would love for you to be part of it.

WHAT STUDENTS WILL DO

- Classroom exhibits: Students have been learning about countries around the world. Lower Elementary classes are each exploring a continent, Upper Elementary students are researching a country of their choice, and Junior High groups are preparing presentations and exhibits on the countries they selected.
- World tour: During the festival, Elementary students will visit classrooms to explore the exhibits.
- Food tasting: Each student will get to taste three dishes from around the world in our small gym.

HOW YOU CAN JOIN IN

1. Share a dish. We would love for families to contribute a dish or two from their culture or a country they love. Please sign up here: [sign-up link]
- Bring the dish in small, sample-size portions so every group gets a taste.
- Include a label with the dish name, its country of origin and any allergens (nuts, dairy, gluten, eggs, etc.).
- Please drop off food on November 20, before 1pm. You can also volunteer to serve the food.

2. Share your art, poetry, or anything else you'd like to share about your culture. Our south kiva will host an art and poetry exhibit open to students, families and staff. If you'd like to contribute a piece, please send it to Ms. Baleigh by the morning of November 19. You can contact her at bparker@mmautah.org

3. Perform. Do you sing, dance, play an instrument or have another cultural tradition to share? We would love to include parent performers. Please contact Ms. Ezzy at eservin@mmautah.org by November 16.

4. Volunteer. We need extra hands to help in the small gym on the day of the festival. Let us know if you're available.

Thank you for helping us make our school a haven of peace where every culture is celebrated. We can't wait to celebrate with you!
