A Message from the Superintendent
Dear RTMSD Community,
Our school year got off to a great start this week! The beautiful weather on our first two days of school felt like a gift to students and staff alike, as the energy, enthusiasm and laughter returned to our classrooms after the summer break. The transition to school, especially for our youngest learners, can foster some big emotions. Extra staff members were on hand at our schools to help reassure and guide those who needed a bit of support. The most common description I heard from staff, students and parents about the start of the school year was "smooth" and "happy"– music to my ears!
And in case you missed it, we've included a video below of the Kindergarten Dash at Friday evening's Penncrest High School football game. This has become a joyous annual event for RTMSD. Congratulations to all from the Class of 2038 who participated!
This year, you'll receive this e-newsletter once a month. We'll bring you a brief synopsis of what's happening in the school district, upcoming events, and links to information about ongoing projects, including our K-1 Early Learning Center, scheduled to open in the fall of 2028.
Please stay in touch with the district. Follow us on Facebook and Instagram. Check our newly redesigned district and school websites. And join me in being a full participant in a great school year!
Regards,
Joe Meloche
