✝️ Christmas Prayer
Loving God,
As we come to the end of this school year,
we pause to give thanks for the many blessings we have shared at St Denis.
Thank you for the learning, the laughter, the friendships and the growth that have filled our days.
As we enter this Christmas season,
open our hearts to the peace, hope and joy that the birth of Jesus brings.
May our homes be places of kindness and rest, and may our families find time to reconnect
and celebrate together.
Watch over all in our community during the holidays.
Keep us safe in our travels, renew our spirits and guide us gently into the year ahead.
We especially pray for those who find this season difficult.
May they feel comforted and surrounded by Your love.
Bless our staff, our students and our families
as we look forward to 2026 with hope and gratitude.
Amen.

Friday 12 December: Last day for students and Reports home
Term 1, 2026
Thursday 29 January: School starts for staff.
Monday 2 February: School starts for students.
Dear Parents and Caregivers,
As we come to the final last teaching days of Term 4 and close the chapter on 2025, I want to take a moment to reflect on what has truly been a wonderful year at St Denis. Our students have grown in confidence and capability, and I could not be prouder of everything they have achieved. Their enthusiasm continues to make our school such a special place.
With Christmas just around the corner I hope all our families find time to enjoy the simple moments together. The season offers a beautiful opportunity to reconnect, reflect and embrace the hope that Christmas brings.
Next week our staff will continue working together to wrap up 2025 and finalise our planning for the year ahead. This collaborative time is invaluable and I am grateful for the dedication and passion that our teachers bring to both their students and our school community. I wish our incredible staff a wonderful break over the Christmas holidays.
Meet the Teacher Morning
This morning’s Meet the Teacher was a highlight of the week. It was wonderful to walk through each classroom and see the excitement on students’ faces as they explored their new spaces, chatted about the year ahead and began building connections with their 2026 teachers.
Our incoming Year 1 students have already been enjoying the thrill of playing in the “big” playground at lunchtime and can’t wait for this to become a permanent part of their day next year.
Our 2026 Year 4 students were thrilled to learn about the return of our school chickens early next year which sparked plenty of excited chatter and plans.
Our 2026 Year 6 class wasted no time diving into important discussions about camp, their leavers shirts and the extra responsibilities they are ready to take on as leaders of our school.
A huge thank you to our current and incoming teachers for preparing such a warm, fun and engaging morning for your students.
Christmas Concert
Our Christmas Concert was a beautiful celebration of community. Thank you to all our parents and families who joined us and helped make the evening so memorable and to those who stayed behind to help pack down at the end of the night. A very special thank you to Casey for coordinating the event and to all staff for their support in bringing the evening together.
We have received helpful feedback about the sound, and we are already exploring ways to enhance this so that our 2026 concert can be enjoyed even more clearly by everyone.

A Personal Note
I am looking forward to spending some time with my boy tribe and extended family over the break and heading down south to enjoy morning runs at sunrise and the chance to read more books. It will be nice to have a break from the routine of school and enjoy a change of pace, although I know I will be looking forward to returning by the end of the holidays. I am incredibly grateful for the support of our community throughout the year and for the opportunity to lead such a wonderful school.
Wishing every family a joyful, safe and hope filled Christmas. I look forward to welcoming everyone back in 2026 for another exciting year of learning, growth and community.
Warm Regards,
Sarah Potts
