Welcome Bagby Families to the 25/26 School Year!

Our staff is excited to welcome our Barracudas to campus on Thursday, August 14th for the start of the 25-26 school year.

Measure R construction is almost complete at Bagby. Following three phases over multiple summers (new HVAC, cabinetry, countertops, windows, blinds, TVs, carpet, flooring, paint, bathrooms, a new playground, and more) our amazing campus is looking even better and ready to support the learning of our barracudas. Thank you to the generous Cambrian residents and voters for supporting Measure R in November 2020. These modernizations for CSD schools were only possible with your vote and on-going financial support.

Be sure to Check out the 25/26 School Year Welcome Video linked HERE and available on YouTube. The video and this message contain important information to ensure that the start of the new school year goes smoothly for you and your Barracuda.

I look forward to a great school year with all of our Barracudas!

See You Soon,

Michael

Student ID Numbers & Class Lists

Class lists will be posted on Bagby’s webpage and in front office windows at 6 PM on Tuesday, August 12th. No matter the classroom your child is placed in this year, you can be assured that they will have a teacher who will provide them with an excellent educational experience and a caring environment to support their growth and development.

Enrollment

The word is out-Bagby is a great school! As such are growing and have waitlists of families trying to join our terrific community. Please keep in mind that during the first few weeks of school our enrollment is in a transition period, and there may be changes to class assignments as student enrollment stabilizes. If changes are necessary, we will do our very best to take into consideration the needs of each student.

Pick-Up/Drop-Off Procedures

Please review the Bagby Arrival & Dismissal Map (2025-26) carefully. Our procedures have not changed but (as always) we need your help. We are a busy, growing school, and congestion on Harris and Leigh Avenues at arrival and dismissal times is an ongoing challenge. Please give yourself plenty of time to get to and from school as it will take each and every one of us to help keep our kids, staff, and neighbors safe.

  • Please pull all the way forward in our traffic circles - DO NOT STOP SHORT as it creates additional backups for other Bagby families and additional congestion on Harris & Leigh.

  • If doing vehicle pickup be sure to have your student pickup placard clearly displayed on the front dash. These will be sent home on the first days of school.

Campus Access & Safety

Campus Access

Campus safety is an ongoing top priority for the Cambrian School District and our school community. Access to the campus during the school day is available only through the school office where we will request that you sign in and get a badge if you will be on the school grounds.

See Something, Say Something

It takes our entire school community to keep our kids, staff, and neighbors safe daily. If you observe a safety concern, please immediately alert the front office and local authorities if warranted.

Home & School Club Volunteering

One of the core strengths of Bagby is our solid home-school partnerships. Our Home and School Club contributes in so many positive ways to our school culture and supports our students, staff, and families. If you are already active, thank you for your continued support! If you are new to Bagby or you’ve been thinking about getting more involved, please do. During our TK/K Campus Welcome and Back to School Night, please come learn more about HSC opportunities. Your child’s teacher is another important source of volunteer opportunities. They each will be sharing in the coming weeks how you can support your child’s classroom. There is a job for everyone – big or small! We look forward to having you join this group of amazing volunteers.

Positive Behavior Intervention and Support (PBIS)

Bagby is a Positive Behavior Intervention and Support (PBIS) school. This is a comprehensive behavioral system that empowers all children to make positive choices. Our expectations for all students and adults at Bagby, the Bagby B’s, are:

  1. Be Safe

  2. Be Responsible

  3. Be Respectful

  4. Choose Kind!

Whenever an opportunity arises to problem solve with a student, we approach the problem through the “lens” of our “B’s.” I hope you will discuss these expectations regularly with your child to help reinforce what they are learning at school.

Back to School Night-8/28/25

I hope each Bagby family can attend our Back-To-School Night on Thursday, August 28th, beginning at 6:00 PM. This is a significant opportunity to meet your child’s teacher and Home & School Club representatives to continue to build the vital home-school partnership that drives student success and growth.

Daily Routines

It is critical that your family start shifting daily routines in order to adjust back to our school schedule. Starting early bedtimes and early wake-ups NOW will make the evenings and mornings of the first days of school much easier for both you and your children.
