- Special announcement and moment of silence at 8:46am: Students and staff, please pardon the interruption. At 8:46am, American Airlines Flight 11 struck the North Tower, and today marks the 25th anniversary of September 11, 2001. Each year, September 11th is observed as Patriot Day, a national day of remembrance honoring the victims of the attacks and recognizing the courage and service displayed in response. As a community with strong military ties, we also recognize the many service members, first responders, and public servants who have answered the call to serve our nation in the years since that day. Although none of our students were alive at the time, it is important that we remember those who were lost, honor the courage of first responders and everyday citizens, and reflect on the resilience and unity that followed. At this time, please join me in a moment of silence.
