Leander HS Insider
October 25, 2024

Lion Community,
Next week marks the final week of the second grading cycle. Be sure to check the HAC and Google Classroom for any remaining assignments this cycle.
Wednesday is Trunk or Treat at LHS! There is a new location this year so please read the details below as there are multiple events happening for the district at LHS on October 30th.
As we approach Halloween, students are permitted to wear costumes on October 31st. However, please remember that all costumes must follow the LISD dress code, which includes no masks or anything that covers your face and no prop weapons of any kind.
Today, Varsity Golf is at Marble Falls, Varsity Swim is at the AISD Invitational, Volleyball takes on Lockhart tonight, and Football takes on Rouse at Gupton. Saturday the Band is competing at the Area Marching Contest! Good luck to all student groups performing and competing in this upcoming week.
Let's win the Food Drive trophy against CPHS next Friday! An easy way to support the LISD Backpack Program is to bring canned food to the CPHS v. LHS game next week. The campus that collects the most donations wins the Rivalry Trophy. Can't join us for the big game with canned goods? Drop off the donations at the Front Office by 2 PM on Friday (C/O Faulkner) and we will get them to the right side of Bible Stadium.
Go Lions!
2024 Trunk-or-Treat
We're excited for our annual Trunk-or-Treat event! This FREE event (costumes encouraged) will be Wednesday, October 30, 2024 from 6 PM to 8 PM on the south end of Bible Stadium. LHS Cheer will have their Haunted House for $5 entry or $15 unlimited entry.
PLEASE park at the HOME STADIUM side of Bible. There is a MS Band Concert in the PAC and there is a Basketball scrimmage.
CPHS v. LHS - Food Drive Challenge
Last year CPHS won the canned food challenge - let's be the winning team on the field and in the food drive this year!
The LISD Backpack Food Program has challenged Leander HS and Cedar Park HS to a “We CAN Tackle Hunger” Food Collection at our football game at Bible Stadium on November 1st. We are collecting canned vegetables, canned soup, canned pasta, chicken/tuna, peanut butter and plastic jar jelly. As fans walk up to the stadium, they will drop their food donations at our tables and enter the stadium.
We are collecting through the first quarter and the winning school will receive the We CAN Tackle Hunger trophy at half time.
Did you know that high school blood drives account for 12% of the Central Texas blood supply?
HOSA will be hosting our Vein Drain Blood Drive on October 29th! The We are Blood Center will be in Lecture Hall C from 8:30 am-2:30 pm. Donors must be 17 years old and weigh at least 115 lbs. Your students that are donating should have an email from We are Blood confirming their appointment times. When you donate, you also get a free shirt! You can sign up using the link provided here.
The blood drive sign up has filled all spots but walk-ins will be accepted. Parents and community members are also invited to donate! Just sign in at the front office and you'll be directed to the donation drive.
