I hope you have had time to go on line to take the facility master plan feasability survey. Once these projects start, we may have a need to bring a Brown Bottle type event back to furnish or meet special needs through fundraising.

All parishioners should be getting their feasibility study questionnaire in the mail. This is part of the planning process where you get to speak to what is planned and how it would be supported. Once the committee gets an idea of support and dollars possible, they will begin the fundraising phase. There are requirements before actual projects begin. It was recently brought to my attention that there may have been some lack of clarity around communication regarding the reception of Sacraments and Mass attendance.

At the heart of our faith is a relationship with Jesus—and like any relationship, it grows stronger when we make time for it. Attending Mass is one of the most powerful ways we can receive grace to grow in that relationship and journey together toward heaven.

As a school we will continue to focus more on inspiring a deeper love and desire for the Mass and the Five Foundation Stones. With this in mind, we will move forward with all students receiving First Holy Communion and Confirmation as scheduled. We will continue to survey all parishioners and all students (through 4 anonymous yes or no questions) to collect data on if we are making progress.

We remain committed to supporting families in their faith journey and helping our students grow in love for the Eucharist and the Church.

New Archbishop Appointed: With great joy, we share the exciting news that Pope Francis has appointed Bishop W. Shawn McKnight of Jefferson City as the successor to Archbishop Joseph Naumann! Bishop McKnight will be officially installed as our new Archbishop on May 27, 2025.

New Associate Pastor: Rev. Fr. Joseph Asante will be joining Fr. Zarse and Fr. Dan Morris at SHOJ! Hailing from Ghana, Fr. Asante brings a wealth of experience, including multiple degrees, teaching in seminaries, serving as principal of the Catholic Technical Institute, lecturing at a university, and acting as regional coordinator for Faith in Ghana Alliance. Please join us in praying for him!

School Belles, see picture below, is ready to provide uniforms for us. As far as old uniforms, there will be no expiration dates for students to wear the current logo. I know that uniforms are expensive and don't intend for you to have to buy all new uniforms.

St. Benedict Rosary Prayer Group will meet on the little playground at 3:06 each Wednesday to pray The Rosary (or at least part of it) for SHOJ school. All are welcome, even littles can come play while you pray. Please join us.
