Hello Roosevelt Families!

I hope you are all having a fantastic, sun-soaked summer and making memories that will last a lifetime. As we get closer to the start of the school year, the energy is building here at Roosevelt and I couldn't be more excited to welcome our Raccoons back to campus!

We have some amazing things in store for the upcoming year. Our ultimate vision is to create a vibrant, joyful learning community where every student thrives. To get there, we are focusing on three big areas this year:

📚 Leaping Into Literacy with Arts and Letters

Get ready to watch your child’s inner reader soar! We are upgrading our reading instruction this year by implementing a fantastic new curriculum called Arts and Letters. Grounded in the Science of Reading, this program is designed to build rock-solid reading skills while focus on building student knowledge.

❤️ A Place Where Every Raccoon Belongs

Above all, Roosevelt is a home away from home. We are committed to making sure that every single student walks through our doors and feels a deep sense of belonging. Our goal is for every Raccoon to:

• Feel known and cared for by the adults in the building.

• Feel emotionally and physically safe every single day.

• Feel respected and included for exactly who they are.

• Feel that their voice matters and is actively listened to.

• Feel capable and valued as a learner and an individual.

• Feel connected to their peers and the community around them.

Together, we are going to make this an unforgettable school year. Enjoy these last weeks of summer, and we will see you back at Roosevelt soon!

Want to help plan events, support students, or simply learn more about what the PTO does? Fill out our quick PTO Interest Form. There are plenty of ways to help, whether you attend meetings, volunteer at an event, or take on a larger role.

First PTO Meeting of the Year

• Tuesday, September 15th at 5:30 PM

• All PTO meetings are open to Roosevelt parents and caregivers

• Free childcare during the meeting!

We’ll discuss Walk-A-Thon preparation, outstanding event needs, funding requests, and the yearbook timeline.

• Annual Census Verification in Infinite Campus- Please make sure that you have access to your Parent Portal through Infinite Campus to update. If you need assistance please email icsupport@isd77.org or CLICK HERE for a parent help guide. **This must be complete in order to view who your child's teacher is on August 24th.

Important Dates:

• Who's my teacher?: On August 24th, you will receive a newsletter with instructions on how to view who your child's teacher is and how to sign up for Entrance Conferences. Please remember to ensure your Census Verification is complete. You will not be able to access your child's information until this is done.

• Entrance Conferences:

  • Tuesday, September 8th | 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM

  • Wednesday, September 9th | 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM

  • School/ Yearbook Photos will be taken during entrance conferences.

• First Day of School:

  • Thursday, September 10th

  • School Start of Day: 7:35 AM- Drop off Begins... 7:50 AM – First Bell Rings... 8:00 AM - Final Bell Rings students should be in their classrooms ready for a great day of learning by 8:00am.

  • School End of Day: 2:30 PM

School pictures will be taken at Entrance Conferences on Sept. 8 and 9. If you would like, you can order ahead using the information below.
