Multicultural Showcase

We hosted our 2nd Annual Multicultural Showcase on Wednesday, April 29, 2026. This event celebrated our diverse school community, representing more than 50 countries and dozens of languages. Through cultural performances, displays, food samples, and interactive stations, students had the opportunity to both celebrate and learn about the many cultures that make up our school community.

A big thank you to the many teachers, students, and community members who contributed to making this event such a success.

MHJH Math Dept

The Gauss Math Competition is run by the University of Waterloo. The Gauss Contests introduce students in Grades 7 and 8 to a broader perspective of mathematics than their school curriculum can typically provide in a fun, accessible way. Intriguing problems and a multiple-choice format make the Gauss contests a wonderful opportunity for all participants to grow their interest in and curiosity about the power of math. Any student interested in participating are asked to submit their name to their Math teachers, the deadline to submit your name is May 8th.

MHJH French

All students at MDJH, whether enrolled in French Immersion or Core French, participated in Manie Musicale. This annual, March Madness–style bracket competition is designed for French language learners in Grades 5–12, featuring 16 Francophone songs that compete through student voting. Held each March, the event promotes French language and culture through engaging music videos, ultimately culminating in the crowning of a champion. Its goal is to connect students with contemporary Francophone artists from around the world.

To celebrate the final results, we held a school-wide assembly in the gym, where students enjoyed trivia, won prizes, and joined in a lively sing-along as the winning song was revealed.

As a part of our Grade 9 Leaving celebrations, we are creating a slideshow featuring our grade 9 students to highlight their growth over the years. The presentation will include each student's grade 9 school pictures (we already have these) alongside a photograph of them as a baby, toddler, or during their early school years.
