Welcome Back, Applemen!

Dear Parents, Caregivers, and Applemen,

Now that weโ€™re off and running for the 2026โ€“2027 school year, I want to take a moment to simply say how good it is to have our Applemen back.

The beginning of a school year is always exciting, but I also know it can be a lot. New classes, new teachers, new expectations, changing friendships, busy schedules, and the pressure of figuring out what comes next can feel overwhelming at times. Some of our students walked through our doors excited and confident, while others may still be trying to find their footing. Wherever they are, we are glad they are here.

Our theme this year is Apple Fam, and to me, it is so much more than a theme. It represents who we are and who we want to be as a school. Being part of the Apple Fam means that every student who walks through our doors matters. It means knowing our students by name, noticing when something seems different, celebrating their successes, and standing beside them when things are hard. It means creating a school where our kids know there are adults who believe in them, even on the days when they may have a hard time believing in themselves.

Most importantly, it means belonging. There is a place for everyone here. Whether a student finds that place in athletics, FFA, AFJROTC, band, theatre, show choir, Career and Technical Education, student leadership, community service, one of our clubs, or simply in a classroom where they connect with a teacher who believes in them, I want every Applemen to find something that makes Musselman feel like their school.

To our parents and caregivers, thank you for trusting us with the people who mean the most to you. I know you send us your very best every morning. I also know that parenting teenagers isn't always easy. There will be great days and difficult ones, and there may be times when we don't have all the answers. But please know that you are part of the Apple Fam, too, and we are in this together. Reach out. Ask questions. Tell us when your child needs something. We want to be your partner.

And to our Applemen, I hope you give this year everything you've got.

Show up. Work hard. Get involved. Be kind. Take care of each other. Ask for help. Give people second chances. Give yourself second chances. Celebrate the good days and keep going through the hard ones.

Most importantly, don't ever underestimate how much you matter to this school.

One day, much sooner than you think, you will walk out of Musselman for the last time as a student. When that day comes, my hope isn't only that you leave with a diploma. I hope you leave knowing that you belonged here. You mattered here. Someone believed in you here. And Musselman is better because you were part of it.

That's what it means to be Apple Fam.

We have a lot of school year ahead of us. There will be successes to celebrate, challenges to work through, memories to make, and probably a few bumps along the way. Through all of it, we will keep showing up for our kids and for one another.

Because that's what families do.

And at the end of the day, that's what matters most.

Students First. Always.

Apple Fam.

And, as alwaysโ€”

Once an Applemen, Always an Applemen!

Principal

Contact & Emergency Information Update Contact & Emergency Information Update

Keeping contact and emergency information current is vital for your studentโ€™s safety and well-being. As part of the Annual Forms & Information Updates, families are required to review and update all emergency contacts, phone numbers, and addresses.

This ensures that the school can quickly reach parents or guardians in case of an emergency or urgent situation. Accurate information helps staff respond effectively and provides peace of mind knowing your child is supported at all times.

The primary and secondary parent/caregiver listed on the Annual Forms & Information Updates are automatically signed up to receive NTouch alerts for attendance and important updates from the district and your student's school.

๐ŸŽฏ Our Goal: Every Student, Every Day

Regular school attendance is essential to academic successโ€”from kindergarten through graduation. Berkeley County Schoolsโ€™ Department of Attendance is committed to helping every student attend school on time and every day.

Even as students grow more independent, families play a crucial role in ensuring they get to school safely and consistently.

  • ๐Ÿ“ž Stay in close communication with the school. Monitor grades, attendance, and address concerns as they arise.
