Classroom Happenings
ELA- Mrs. Wells
Science- Mr. Hayes & Mr. Geringer
In science this week, students have been wrapping up their exploration of our chemistry concepts. We are at the end of the unit and will be testing on Monday. All missing labs should have been finished and handed in by now. Please check the grade portal for latest class grades. There is a study guide posted on Google Classroom that we also discussed in class for preparation of the assessment.
After the assessment, we plan to begin a short project that will require students to provide a pack of tissue
paper. We mentioned this to the students earlier, but wanted to remind them once again. Please have this to school by Monday.
Social Studies- Dr. Rachal
In Dr. Rachal’s class this week students finished their Personal Finance unit vocabulary with their second and third quizzes. They continued to work on their online financial learning activity through the site Banzai. Students learn to create and manage a budget through a fixed simulation, then a choice simulation. Students will begin lessons about taxes and income and how to save for the future and emergencies next week.
ELA- Mr. Gasparovic
In Mr. Gasparovic’s class, students continued work on their theme writing, focusing on the elements of editing, proofreading and preparation for the summative assessment which will take place next week. In addition, students should be reading their independent novels (2) as their Six Signposts are due on 1/31/2020.
Social Studies- Mr. Gasparovic
In Mr. Gasparovic’s class, students continued to play the Stock Market game. Also, students broadened their Financial Vocabulary as they researched commons terms and applied them to real-life situations. As a refresher, students played Bingo with those terms on Friday.
