Goodbye, August!
CVHS Family Newsletter 2026-2027, Issue 6

It is hard to believe our first month of the school year is coming to a close, but it is exciting to see our academic, athletic, and arts programs in full swing!
Whether you joined us for the 25-26 Academic Award ceremony last night, were a part of the Chaos for our football win against Denver South, praised soccer on their 3-0 season, cheered on softball in their win against Ralston Valley, saluted golf for their 1st place-1st place-2nd place record so far, hyped up the volleyball team that's currently 2-0, supported tennis in their 1-1 in duals, commended our XC boys who are #2 in the state after taking 1st of 104 in the Cheyenne Stampede and our XC girls who were a close 10th, witnessed flag football in either of their blowout (36-0, 47-0) wins, or kept up the spirit alongside our band, color guard, Poms, and Cheer who are there for it all, there has been so much to celebrate so far this semester!
Sabercats, let's keep that energy up! Catch an upcoming game, join a club (those begin next week), and let the countdown to Showdown begin!
With Gratitude,
Alissa Jonesz
Principal, Castle View HS

Show Up | Show Out | Show Down
Each week throughout this year, we're looking forward to celebrating students who are living our CV values! And every month, we'll select recipients for our Castle View Challenge Coins.
Hear from our SaberStaff this week one how you can Take Care of One Another, Take Care of Our Place, Be Inclusive, and Go Above and Beyond.
Show Up
Patrick Darcy: Patrick shows up to biology class by taking care of others, showing compassion and leading by example. He's showing what it means to be a Sabercat! Thanks Patrick!
Juliet Schulz: Jules SHOWS UP each day in class. She's on time, fully engaged, and takes care of our in-class community. Additionally, She's got a great sense of humor, is very well spoken, is thoughtful in her responses, is considerate of other people's feelings and ideas, and is willing to engage in respectful civil discourse. She's not afraid to speak her mind, but is considerate of who her audience is. Nicely done, Jules.
Braxton Winona: Braxton has been here less than a week from a neighboring DCSD high school. He has jumped right into our routines and procedures in 1st hour without skipping a beat, and he is engaging thoughtfully and meaningfully in class discussions! He has been the definition of SHOWING UP!
Show Out
Brecken Cates: Brecken went above and beyond by helping Principal Jonesz with a special project for our feeder school teams by adding her spectacular handwriting skills to make these gifts beautiful!
Juliet Zohlen: Juliet is a proud Sabercat all the time, but the beginning of this year has let her show it off in all sorts of ways! Whether it was her constantly evolving Pitbull outfit on Freshman First Day, her perfect volleyball slide as the Joker in a Showdown Promo, or simply the positivity and energy she brings to every class at any time of day, she's a "fireball", shining bright with CV spirit!
Caitlyn Mayberry: Caitlyn was outside of the theatre after school one day waiting to head home. I was setting up for Back to School Night. She saw that I was setting up lots of tables, etc. She immediately offered to help and starting setting up tables, chairs, and table clothes. She was so nice to stop and notice someone could use help. Appreciate her!
Show Down
Siena Stolzer: Siena spent time this summer and early this school year brainstorming how to bring coherence, excitement, and a more inclusive approach to the Student Government social media page, and its professionalism, informative posts, and consistency really show off her skills. She is a deep thinker who always wants to make our school better, and as a senior, she's really bringing it!
Rory Staehlin: Rory has started the year in less than ideal circumstances, and despite that, he shows up and works hard and continues to be a valuable member of our classrooms. Rory has already shown an admirable amount of grit, and I appreciate his dedication to be here and present despite challenges. Way to go Rory!
Say “HAPPY BIRTHDAY” to your Sabercat and support the Castle View High School PTO by purchasing a Birthday Gram to be displayed on the CVHS marquee! For only $20, your student will get a special shout out on our sign on their birthday! All funds help the CV PTO take care of our staff!
Birthday Grams must be purchased at least 10 days prior to your student’s birthday and will only be displayed on school days (they will not run on breaks).
