Happy Friday, Lil Steamer Families!

Lil Steamer Families -- A huge round of applause (and perhaps a nap) for everyone who joined us for our Preschool Family Fun Night! It was a glorious whirlwind of boots, goat petting and feeding, and some creative activities that reminded us all why our youngest Lil Steamers are the heart of our district. Seeing our future leaders tackle hands-on activities with such gusto was a testament to the incredible community we’re building together. Thank you to the families who came out to play, learn, and survive the sugar rush alongside us; your engagement truly sets the stage for a lifetime of school spirit. Not to be outdone, our 4th graders recently took us on the most efficient road trip in history during their State Showcase. We managed to visit all 50 states in under an hour without a single person asking "Are we there yet?" or fighting over the aux cord. From meticulously researched posters to students speaking with the confidence of seasoned travel agents, the depth of knowledge on display was truly inspiring. Our 4th-grade scholars poured their hearts into these projects, and seeing them beam with pride while sharing obscure state bird facts was a highlight of the week. Way to go, Lil Steamers, for showing us that the country is yours for the taking one tri-fold board at a time! Have a great weekend, JAGH
4th Grade State Showcase Bonus Video!
Due to technical difficulties, 4B Kade S. was not able to demonstrate his volcano eruption at last night's State Showcase. He was able to perform the demonstration during recess today.
Also, watching school volcano projects never gets old! 😆 Click the link below to watch.

We’ve officially hit the "home stretch." The birds are chirping, and the sun is finally starting to make a regular appearance. It is completely natural for our students (and, let’s be real, us adults too!) to start feeling that end-of-year itch. However, with four weeks of school remaining, we still have a lot of meaningful learning and memory-making to do. To ensure our students cross the finish line feeling proud and prepared, we are focusing on maintaining our high expectations for behavior and academics right up until the final bell. It might be tempting to "let things slide" as the calendar flips to May, but keeping our routines firm is actually the kindest thing we can do for our kids. Predictability reduces anxiety, and clear boundaries help everyone feel safe during a high-energy time of year.
Thank you for your incredible support throughout this year. Let’s make these last days the best ones yet.
1A Lemon Day and Sawmill Field Trip!
We had a blast "squeezing" the day for Lemon Day! We ate yummy lemon treats, learned all about the lemon plant, and graphed our results of which lemonade was better (pink or yellow).
First grade also had a great time at the Sawmill last week for our grade level field trip! We enjoyed doing a lot of fun activities!

How to balance a busy schedule:
Map out daily routines on a calendar (magnetic fridge or digital) that includes school, practices, games, and dedicated study time.
Take time for a healthy snack after school.
Utilize travel time to games to read or do homework.
1B had fun at the Sawmill Museum!
First Grade was able to go to the Sawmill Museum for a fun and educational field trip! The students even got to see the troll being built!
1D Lemon Day and Sawmill Visit
1D has had a lot of excitement over the last few weeks! Our students had a fantastic time visiting the Sawmill Museum, where history came to life through engaging hands-on activities. Back in the classroom, we celebrated "Lemon Day" to honor everything we’ve "squeezed" into the school year so far. The day was filled with lemon-themed math, reading, and science activities, and we had a refreshing treat! A huge thank you to our wonderful parents who donated to made this special day possible.
