What's Blooming @ Columbine
Back to School Edition - August 2025 - Columbine Elementary
Welcome Back!
Dear Columbine Parents and Families,
It is my honor to welcome all of you to Columbine for the 2025-2026 school year! I am truly looking forward to connecting with all of our new and returning families as we navigate the Back-to-School season!
Throughout the summer months, staff and leadership have been eagerly planning for our students' return to school. Staff will be back on the 13th to begin their final preparations for students (and many of them have worked throughout the summer to make sure this year is the best yet - we can't wait to see you!).
I am thrilled to share that all positions at Columbine have been hired! We have a small handful of new educators joining our incredible team. Please join me in welcoming these folks:
Sarah Boddy - 2nd Grade Teacher
Anna Francis - 5th Grade Teacher
Dana Hutchcraft - Social Worker
Michelle Normandin - Special Education Teacher
Rebecca Rosburg - Paraprofessional
Nancy Holmes - Preschool Paraprofessional
We also have some returning folks who have taken on new roles!
Jessica Ricks is now our new academic coach! K'Ann Sanchez will be teaching third grade this year! And Brenda Helstrom stepped into the role of lead teacher for full day preschool! Columbine is so grateful for our community of educators who are invested in our students.
Columbine is where we nurture students to love learning, foster responsibility, develop meaningful relationships, and lean in to our community. It is my privilege to lead a school that has such a positive impact on the lives of the students who learn here year after year. This reputation is a product of the collaborative work of the staff, students, parents and surrounding community. Thank you for your continued support! I am excited to begin the school year and continue working together toward this vision for all of our students. Please read on to learn more about preparing for the start of the school year, important upcoming events, and opportunities to connect!
Together we will have an outstanding school year,
Landis Seabolt
Principal

Carpool Arrival & Dismissal
Kindergarten-Sixth Grade Drop Off & Pick Up
We value student safety first - you can support us in this effort by following the guidance provided here. Together, we can make drop-off and pick-up a great, safe part of our daily routine! Have questions? Please reach out!
Arrival Kindergarten-Sixth Grade:
7:35 AM - Breakfast begins in the cafeteria - this is free of charge for all students. Students dropped off at this time will enter the back cafeteria doors.
7:45 AM - Morning drop off begins - students arriving will gather on the main playground for the first two weeks of school to meet teachers and learn their path to class. Beginning September 3rd, students will be able to walk to classes on their own upon arrival anytime after 7:45am. Please do not drop off students before supervision begins - this is for the safety of all students.
8:00 AM - Classes begin! All students who arrive late must check in at the attendance office.
Columbine Morning Drop Off in the Carpool Lanes: Follow the lane for your grade level, be aware of crosswalks and crossing guards, and use a slow driving speed. This is a busy time of the day for everyone, and we need to be as safe and efficient as possible. Please remember that at the start of the year, there are always more cars and people during drop off, with many new families and students learning the system. Please be kind and helpful to one another so everyone can have a positive start to their day - especially the kids!
1st-6th Drop Off Line: Students need to be ready to unbuckle their seatbelts and hop out of their cars when adults pull up to drop off students in the morning. Parents must stay in the car when dropping off students. If your student is not able to exit the car without your help, please park and walk your student to the teacher meeting spot. There is NO PARKING in the drop off line.
- PreK-Kinder Drop Off Line: Students need to be ready to exit the vehicle. Parents should stay in the car if possible. If your student needs help to exit the car, please park and walk your student to the teacher meeting spot.
3:00 PM - Kindergarten students are dismissed. Parents will pick up students using the half loop by the Bear Playground. Parents stay in your vehicle, use slow speed, and don't block the main parking lot lane as you make the loop. Alternatively you may park and walk over to pick up your child - please use the crosswalk : )
3:00 PM - First grade students are dismissed. Parents may park and walk up to meet children near the flagpole OR may pull up in the bus lane along Kelley's Road behind the sign, stay in your vehicle, and teachers will walk students to your vehicle. Remember, don't block any lanes of traffic while you are waiting for your student. First grade is the only grade level that uses the Kelley's Road pick up lane.
3:05 PM - 2nd - 6th Grade students are dismissed. Students can be picked up in the main carpool lane. Practice patience, be aware of the crosswalk and crossing guards, and watch your speed as you exit the carpool lane - this will help all of us have a pleasant end to the school day.
Any student still on school grounds at 3:15 will report to the office to call home.
Students are expected to leave immediately after school unless they are chaperoned by a parent or involved in an after school activity under the supervision of a staff member. The playgrounds are not supervised by staff after dismissal. Prompt pick up by parents is necessary and expected to ensure the safety of all students. We appreciate your understanding and partnership in this matter.
