Low Ash Primary
Weekly round up - 14.3.25
Once again, it's been a busy, exciting week at school. The Year 4s had a fantastic time on their residential, there were successful Year 3 Geography trips, a Year 5 visit to Saltaire, a visit from William Petty and multiple sporting events amongst many other things.
Hopefully you saw the Ping yesterday which shared our latest Ofsted report. If not, it can be found on our school website.
Stars of the Week
Reception and Key Stage 1 Stars of the Week
Key Stage 2 Stars of the Week
Well done to this week's Stars of the Week! You should all be very proud of yourselves.
Attendance
Our attendance is dropping below the expected levels. For the school, being above 96% attendance is considered to be 'good' attendance and we are falling short of this. Please remember that if your child has 95% attendance at the end of the year, this means they have missed the equivalent of 2 whole weeks of learning.
This week's school attendance is 96%.
Whole school attendance so far this year is 95%.
Early Years/Key Stage 1 class of the week is Reception Base 2 with 99% attendance!
Key Stage 2 class of the week is 5B with 99.7% attendance - well done!
Once more, here is the link to the attendance page of the school website which has information on the Penalty Notice system. Ultimately, more than 2 penalty notices could result in the council taking you to court and a criminal record. We really do not want any of our families to have to go through this.

Year 4 Residential
The Year 4 pupils had a fantastic time on their History based residential to York. They consolidated their learning on the Romans and Anglo-Saxons and gained some important knowledge about the Vikings which will stand them in good stead for their next History unit. I was lucky enough to spend the day in York with the children on Tuesday and they all seemed to be having a fantastic time. They behaved brilliantly and were a credit to the school. Thank you to all staff who gave up their own time to plan, prepare and lead on the residential.
Year 3 Geography Trip
It wasn't just Year 4 who had all the fun this week. Year 3 took a trip to Ilkley to help with their Geography learning about rivers. If your child went on this visit, try to talk to them about what they learnt.
William Petty's visit
Year 2 had a visit from a very important guest this week in the shape of 'William Petty' who lived during the time of the Great Fire of London. He really brought their History learning to life.
Year 5 History trip
We are very lucky to have so many wonderful places to visit on our doorstep and which really help bring the curriculum to life for the pupils. Over the past 2 weeks, all Year 5 classes have visited the World Heritage Site of Saltaire to support their learning on Titus Salt.
Staff Fundraising Challenge
Please don't forget to support us if you can! With the Just Giving page and other donations received, we are up to £403 - just over 10% over our target of £3,000 (this was an aspirational target however!) Thank you to those who have already sponsored us. If you feel you can help in any way, please go to our Just Giving page by clicking on the link below. All funds raised will go to school to ensure we can continue to offer the Low Ash pupils all of the things they deserve.
Sporting Achievements
It's been another busy week in the Low Ash sporting calendar with a tag rugby tournament, the Inclusion games and some U11 football 'friendlies' against Blakehill. All of the pupils who have represented school should be very proud of themselves,.

Online Safety
All of the guides we share with you can be found on the Online Safety Page of our school website. We update this each week with a new guide.
This week's useful guide is linked to the popular game 'Roblox'.
We hope you all have a lovely weekend and we will see you on Monday.
