Our Spartans returned from spring break energized and ready to finish Marking Period 4 strong. The week began with new schedules for most students and the start of our spring sports seasons.
We are proud to share that our Spartans competed in the Penn Relays trials, qualified for the Penn Relays, and broke the school record in the 4x100 meter relay with an impressive time of 52.57. Congratulations to Honor Anderson, Iris Gustkey, Camille Steinberg, and Milan Muhammad on this outstanding achievement.
Marking Period 3 report cards are now available in HAC. Please take time to review them with your child and set goals for a successful final marking period.
PSSA testing begins April 21. Our students are prepared and ready to show what they know.
A big thank you to our assistant principals, Dr. Layton and Dr. McGuire, in recognition of National Assistant Principals Week. Their leadership supports our staff, strengthens our school, and helps our students succeed.

Spartan Jazz Fest – Friday, April 24
We’re excited to host our annual Spartan Jazz Fest on April 24—a fun night of music our students are looking forward to!
Jazz Fest is one of our two major fundraisers, supporting instruments, equipment, and transportation costs. We appreciate your support in the following ways:
- $20 Family Sponsorship (in place of food/drink donations) helps cover concessions. Sponsors will be listed in the program (deadline: April 20). Donations can be sent via Venmo (@momonamission) or cash/check (SLMS Music Boosters) with your child.
- Volunteers Needed for set-up, concessions, admissions, stage crew, and more:

F.A.R.E.
Rose Tree Media School District is committed to improving our society today, and for future generations, through outstanding education, awareness, and appreciation of all people. We work to carry out this mission by exhibiting respect for diversity among our student body, including but not limited to race, ethnicity, gender identity, sexual identity, disability, socioeconomic class, and religion. The mission of F.A.R.E. is to promote and encourage diversity awareness, provide family support, engage in networking, and create deeper unity and understanding within the Rose Tree Media School District and the surrounding community.
Click on the FARE Information document to learn about upcoming opportunities to get involved and meeting information.
Please also refer to the school calendar for meeting dates and any rescheduling.
Cell Phones and Electronic Devices
To keep classrooms focused and learning uninterrupted, all wireless devices, including cell phones, smart watches, earbuds, and similar devices, must be OFF and AWAY during the school day unless a teacher gives a specific academic reason to use them. Students will be reminded each morning to power down their devices.
Please let your child know that you will not be texting or calling during school hours. If a student needs to reach a parent, a staff member can provide permission. In an emergency, the main office is the best way to get in touch. More details are available in the Springton Lake Student Handbook.
Thank you for helping us create a safe, distraction-free learning environment!
