GRACE ACCREDITATION VISIT - OCT. 21, 2021

Grace Christian School is accredited by WASC (Western Association of Schools and Colleges) and NLSA (National Lutheran School Association) which are the institutions in charge of confirming the quality of schools and granting school accreditation. In the 2017-2018 school year, we conducted a Self Study, analyzing our areas of strengths and areas in which we need improvement using feedback from teachers, staff, parents, students, and community members.

Based on our Self Study and the visiting team's report in 2018, Grace was granted a six year accreditation (2018-2024) with a revisit to confirm progress after three years. We will have a visiting team on our campus October 21, 2021. Over the past few months we have been preparing a midterm report outlining our progress on the 2018-2024 Plan. Here is a link for you to view our report that we have submitted to WASC. The two person team will conduct our visit and then give WASC their recommendation to reaffirm our accreditation.

Student Personal Memory Book Project

Did you know that you can have your child’s schoolwork made into a hardbound book as a keepsake? This is a far better way to save your child’s creations than putting it haphazardly into a box!

If you are interested, here are the guidelines:

  • You save all the work you want to keep (including awards, report cards, etc.) at home throughout the school year
  • All items must be no larger than 8 ½” X 11”
  • Work must be flat (no macaroni, yarn, popsicle sticks, etc.), free of glitter and contain no staples
  • Maximum thickness is 2 inches per book
  • You organize it, add title pages, dividers, etc. and turn it in to the school office the week after school is out (watch the Paw Prints for dates)
  • You choose the title to be imprinted on the book’s spine and the cover color
  • The Grace Christian logo will be embossed on the front cover or not, your choice.
  • The cost of the book will be in the neighborhood of $30.00.
  • Pay when you drop off your papers at the beginning of summer. Books will be delivered shortly after school starts the following year.

Keep saving that work. Watch for more information to come. More questions? Ask Mrs. Jackson in the school office 760-747-3029 x 7115 or djackson@gracelcms.net

COVID DECISION TREE SUMMARY

  1. Virtually any symptom is considered a COVID symptom with the exception of an earache. Call the school office to report your child’s symptom/s or if they have been in close contact (within 6 feet over 15 minutes) with a COVID positive person, (760-747-3029 x 7115.)
  2. If they have NOT been in close contact, the child must stay at home for 24 hours AFTER their symptoms have improved AND they are fever free without taking fever reducing medicine.
  3. If they HAVE been in close contact AT SCHOOL WITH MASK ON with a COVID-positive person and they DO NOT develop symptoms, they should get tested for COVID 5 days after being exposed and again 3 days after that. If both tests come back “Negative”, they may return to school with a copy of their test results. If they HAVE been in close contact with a COVID-positive person either on campus without masks or off-campus, they can return 15 days after the last day of contact.
  4. If they HAVE been in close contact with a COVID positive person and they develop symptoms, they need to take a COVID test, and stay home for 10 days after the first symptom is experienced and then may return to school.
  5. If an adult or student has been in close contact with a COVID positive person and they have NO symptoms AND are vaccinated or have had COVID 90 days prior to exposure, quarantine is NOT required. They should test 5 days after exposure and turn in a copy of their Negative test.
  6. Any student that has been vaccinated should bring in a copy for their student file.

Any questions can be directed to Deborah at the front desk. 760-747-3029 x 7115.
