Halloween Parade
๐ Friday, October 31 at 2:00 ๐
Our Halloween parade is happening Friday, October 31, starting at 2:00 PM!
-
Kindergarten will start walking the parade route at 2:00 PM, with each grade joining in 5 minute increments after kindergarten.
-
Students will stay with their class for the whole parade.
-
Parents attending the parade must get a visitor pass from the office and show a photo ID. The office will begin the parent check-in process at 1:15 PM. You may pre-register with the link below so your pass is ready at arrival and you won't have to wait in line to fill out the visitor information.
-
Parade viewing for all parents and families will be in the side parking lot near the bus doors. The lot will be closed to traffic, with cones lining the parade route for student safety.
Student Check Out -
IF you plan to check your student out early right after the parade
THIS IS IMPORTANT INFORMATION BELOW:
-
Any parent wishing to take their child home after the parade must complete the Google Form below by 10:00 AM on Friday, October 31. Students on the form will automatically come to the gym after they are done walking in the parade. You will pick your student up from the gym - this will allow us to keep our entrance crowd free.
-
The gym doors will open immediately after the parade, and there will be a cone with each teacherโs name on it. We ask that the parents go stand behind their child's teacher cone. If you have multiple children, please stand by the cone of your youngest student.
Halloween Expectations and Guidelines to follow for Friday, October 31st
Costume FYI as you may start preparing for the Holiday:
All students are welcome to wear or bring their costume on Friday, October 31st.
We plan to do a school wide parade either through the hallways or outside (weather pending) to showcase our holiday spirit towards the end of the school day.
There are two options when thinking about your student and their costume on 10/31.
1. Your student can wear their costume to school. This option would mean they are able to use the restroom on their own, without any zipper or assistance, when needing to go. They are still able to learn and complete work as needed in their costume.
2. Your student can bring their costume. If your student brings their costume, there will be time dedicated before the school parade for them to change into. This option would only be doable if your student is able to dress themselves into their own costume independently.
General MVR3 Guidelines to be aware of and follow:
-No weapon or toys/accessories
-No face paint or masks
-No Inflatable costumes (these are unsafe in a school setting, causing a tripping hazard along with other worries)
-No scary or gory like costumes

Attendance
Last week, Mrs. Dunnโs Kindergarten class earned all of their CHIEFS letters for the second time this year! Each time the class has perfect attendance, they earn a letter, and when they spell out CHIEFS, they get to enjoy a special class prize.
Way to go, Kindergarteners, for showing responsibility and teamwork!
Good attendance helps children stay on track with learning, build strong habits, and feel confident every day at school.

From me to you...
Dear Zitzman Families,
This week is full of excitement โ from celebrating Red Ribbon Week and our theme โLife is a Puzzle โ Solve It Drug Free!โ to PTO Trunk or Treat and the costume parade. These moments remind us that being part of a strong school community means balancing the fun with the focus โ staying connected, communicating clearly, and cheering each other on.
As the days get busier, it can be easy to slip into โgo, go, goโ mode. But this week is a great opportunity to pause and talk with your kids about the choices we make โ from living drug-free, to showing respect, to being kind and encouraging toward others. The example we set at home becomes the message they carry into school.
At Zitzman, we want every student, staff member, and parent to feel respected, supported, and valued. Weโre starting a new Sense of Community discussion each week during class meetings to help students think about what kindness, teamwork, and pride look like in action here at Zitzman Elementary. Whether itโs saying, โgood job,โ helping a friend, or listening with care โ these small moments build the big picture of who we are.
Thank you for helping make Zitzman a place where respect is given, encouragement is shared, and our sense of community shines bright โ both inside and outside our school walls.
Leading & learning,
Dr. Sladek
