Dear Nashoba Community,

At the end of last school year, we came together to celebrate the official groundbreaking of the new Nashoba Regional High School. Now, nearly one year later to the day, we gathered once again, this time to celebrate the placement of the final beam in the new building.

This final beam, signed by our students, staff, and community members over the past few weeks, represents more than just a construction milestone. It symbolizes the support that has been the foundation of this project. Both physically and metaphorically, this beam holds up the structure of our new school and reflects the deep commitment and shared investment of our school community.

While there are still many more milestones to celebrate before the doors officially open, this moment is an important one to reflect on. It reminds us that this new building represents a shared commitment, from our community, our staff, and our students, to create a space where each and every student can thrive.

On a separate note, we have been provided notice that the roundabout construction project in front of Nashoba Regional High School will enter a phase of construction that will cause traffic delays on Route 117 next week. Our understanding is that this phase of construction will require traffic to be limited to one lane while the work is underway.

Please note:

  • We have been in close contact with the Bolton Police Department, and a priority will be made to facilitate arrival and dismissal at the high school

  • There are no changes to bus routes at this time

  • Both entrances to the high school will remain open

  • Individual buildings will notify families regarding routes impacted as we are made aware of any delays to pick-up or drop-off timing

We will continue to assess the situation throughout the week in partnership with Dee Bus, the Bolton DPW, and the Bolton Police Department. If adjustments to any operations are necessary, we will update the community.

Peace,

Kirk Downing (He/Him)
Superintendent

Innovation Pathways Program, One Week Left to Apply!

We are in the final week of the application window for Information Pathways students! This pathway expands student opportunities in digital creation, data and computer science, and media production.

The Innovation Pathways program offers high school students the chance to explore courses and career opportunities aligned with in-demand sectors identified by the state of Massachusetts. Students in the program participate in four relevant courses during their high school career, with the completion of an internship or a large-scale capstone project during their senior year. Check out which courses fit into our pathways programs here!

We launched our Innovation Pathways Program this school year, welcoming students into the Advanced Engineering and Manufacturing Pathway and the Business and Finance Pathway. Over the course of the year, current Pathways students explored various career fields and landscapes through field trips and learned about different career paths and job roles from guest speakers that ranged from aerospace engineers, marketers, construction site superintendents, and CEOs. Have Questions About Special Education? The NRSD SEPAC Can Help!

What is NRSD SEPAC?

The NRSD Special Education Parent Advisory Council (SEPAC) is an all volunteer group with a mission to support students and their families by providing education and information on special education issues and services. Through their efforts, the organization aims to promote a better understanding of, respect for, and support of special education in the community. The Nashoba SEPAC works closely with the Nashoba Regional School District administration and School Committee to ensure that students' needs are being met in accordance with applicable laws.

SEPAC does this by:

  • Listening to families, our students and caregivers

  • Participating in the planning, development, and evaluation of the school district's special education programs

  • Advising the district on matters that pertain to the education and safety of students with disabilities

  • Providing family-to-family support and networking

  • Hosting presentations

  • Making recommendations for professional development

Why explore SEPAC?

SEPAC welcomes everyone. We strive to build a community of support for those on the special education journey.
